Still a couple operating according to http://www.numbers-stations.com/. Humpty Doo had a numbers station until a few years back: Cherry Ripe, sister of Lincolnshire Poacher.

Re: Site's birthday

I think you're discovering that the people who were high-maintenance in admin terms at TOP are just as high-maintenance here. The people are behaving the same, and ultimately the admins are, too. Perhaps you thought you were inviting misunderstood pillars of society here, and you now realise they're...

Re: How the hell does this work?

FB tracks you by having many, many relationships with web sites. Once the "F" icon is on the page, it can track you uniquely because it can place cookies on your computer. Even if you've not got an explicit Facebook account, it will track you via the cookies (default action in most browser...

Re: Fake News

Boing, the camera is outside the building. The glass is reflecting the outside view. The bullet holes are not reflecting the outside view, they're showing the interior. The interior is unlit, and the walls are dark.

Boing, photo is from the outside looking in. Other photos show the complete building from the outside. centerb1.jpg 500N, I'm responding to that one photo. Adnan Hajj got his nuts handed to him for his kack-handed forgeries, had pretty much all of his photos scrubbed from the databases, and a Reuter...

Since I have a few minutes, here's the top-right bullet hole at original sensor resolution. cropb1.jpg Taken with a Sony ILCE-7SM2, 35mm prime, 17:33 local time on 3rd August. Original cropped to 3000x2004 from 4240x2384. Here's another of your "fake" photos taken on the same camera around...

So you're accusing Adriane Ohanesian of faking a photo? Good luck with that. Why don't you email or tweet her and ask? She's not exactly hard to find. adriane.ohanesian@gmail.com, Skype: adrianeohanesian, Twitter: AdrianeOh

Couldn't you wrap a script around something like stat %x, %y or %z, as appropriate, and return the data in whatever way you want?

Re: Ethernet splitter

They're both in the study? Add a cheap-as-chips Ethernet hub or switch in the study (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-5-Port-E ... hernet+hub or https://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-5-Port-E ... hernet+hub) and it will work just fine. There are a bazillion brands, and they all work, so just pick the cheapest.

Re: Long USB leads

Max length for USB 2.0 is 5 meters. Max length for USB 3.0 cables is 3 meters. This is based on signal timing. Many cables don't meet the minimum specs. You can get active cables that remove this limitation. If you use hubs to extend range, the USB spec supports Tier 7: in practice, there can be 5 h...

You can buy cameras with the IR filters removed. They're typically sold as astronomy bodies. Some cameras have relatively simple steps to remove the IR cut filter yourself-info on the internet.

7-11 in Japan has a banking license: these are not third-party ATMs. they are part of 7-11's own bank infrastructure. The issue in Japan is that so many ATMs are still store and forward transactions. I would imagine that this is why 7-11 was targeted. I'd have to guess when these things are off-line...

I'm tempted to pick up a Coronado PST sometime: skies not dark enough here most of the time, so may as well switch to the other half of the day.

I know everyone does it, but the thought of people who never look at the sun randomly adding Baader film to telescopes they rarely use, gives me the heebie-jeebies. The local shopping site's recommendation engine is claiming "people who bought this also bought a 13% transmission moon filter&quo...
