Re: We need more

It makes me wish I lived in a time when time travel was perfected. Would LOVE to spend an afternoon sitting there in the sunshine and enjoying more of that ambience.

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread

Tried twice to post photo of Port Aux Basques but reducing it didn't work. Visited it decades ago but still saddened to see the destruction Fiona caused there.

Thoughts to the folk who live in the area.

Still open house.

Re: Electric Cars II - Not Silly!

I bet it's pretty sluggish compared to my humble electric saloon car, TBH. Once you've experienced the almighty shove in the back from a car that delivers around 470 lb-ft to all four wheels from a standstill then it's hard to go back to the lack of low speed grunt from the majority of conventional...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V

Five minutes rain last night, howling gale in the early hours, and 20° ish this morning. Radar app shows storms around. My friend in Fresno CA reports 44° right now. Not good. Got caught out on the C versus F there. I actually pulled up the Metars of KFAT as I couldn't believe it was that close to ...

Re: Electric Cars II - Not Silly!

California plans to stop using gas cars, while asking electric car owners NOT to charge theirs. Brilliant! No pollution.

Lara Ricote, who won an award at the Edinburgh Festival, is categorised by the BBC as "hard of hearing", or as it used to be known before Wokeism took over, "deaf".
Growing up in the US, in the fifties, hard of hearing was partial. Deaf was total.

Re: What book are you currently reading?

Bloody clever too, since that Peter May has been deceased for 28 years :) :) In America, being dead apparently does not stop book writing. Tom Clancy has probably written more books since he died than before. I have seriously questioned the ethics of HUGE letters of the dead author vs tiny, if any ...

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread

Close enough. I picked it for the name Point Lobos, which was a state park when I was there. It is located in Pacific Grove, so we have a double winner. Nice job! We ARE looking at Monterey past at the other side of the bay/

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread

Additionally, like many of my photos, it is scanned from a 35mm color transparency and not recent. The area is shown on a current listing as a "reserve" versus a park.
