Re: Wines, not whines
I earn Avios points, the big fella spends them in the BA wine shop. Good choice of various wines and at least the Avios points are actually used.
Re: Cycling
And just did 28km around Sherwood Pines, Nottingham on it. Incredibly capable bike.

Re: Wing foiling
Today was the day! I used my new 6m wing for the first time today. After a couple of attempts and the usual swimming and scrambling, I finally flew a couple of times. Very short flights this time.
Finally!!

Finally!!
Re: Cycling
Last Thursday was a fantastic day weather wise in our patch of England. As both my riding buddies are out of action with various injuries I set off for a ride at Woburn. This time I took my new e-bike. I had so much fun. It's a great bike and takes the sting out of the hills so I can play on the des...

As a previous poster has said, the back up gens used to be diesel powered, but in order to comply with green energy etc, they are now powered by biomass... that takes about 1/2 a day to get up to speed...

Re: Delta CRJ900 Crashes at Toronto Pearson
The captain is a sim instructor and had barely flown. I think he'd only done something like 3.7 hours in 30 days. The FO meanwhile was on Day 5 of a pretty demanding tour.
He may have been desensitised to hard landings as the sim doesn't really reproduce them well.

No way!! You have to report??
DId you see some news agencies were saying that the SAS have cancelled their flights to LHR - however, the image was from the Special Air Services SAS and not Scandinavian Air Services.

Re: Near Miss at Chicago Midway
There are several advantages to QARs over FDRs. FDRs are regulated as to what can be recorded and more importantly, who can access that data. QARs on the other hand have no such regulation and what they can measure is quite a lot compared to the FDR. Many don't even need to be "downloaded" and use 3...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
Today was mainly spent picking up heavy things and putting them down again. Did a load of washing and then decided to service our skies. Had to repair a small ding in the Big Fella's ski.

Orkneys look nice but they don't qualify for either of us as a gateway/base.
Planned move is October 2025, assuming the house sells.
Had a great weekend in Amsterdam visiting friends.

What they did was add the full phat new Bosch Gen 5 CX motor to the same frame (slotted straight in) and added the powermore extra battery as standard.

Hi Ex-A, Hopefully you can go home "soon". Why Noosa? The big fella's from Melbourne, I am from Sydney. We didn't want to live in either city. We met and got married in Cairns but that tends to get battered by cyclones every summer. It was on the cards. The big fella's parents moved to Tewantin 20+ ...

It has a tennis court in the back yard but we don't play tennis so we're going to dig it up and turn it into a fantastic pool and build a party pad/multi purp...
