What Bob2s said. Cold as charity here today, despite that yellow thing in the sky. We've sent Albo. that's just a warning. If you don't comply, we'll send Penny Wong

Yes, Fox, I know about the radioactive element. It has to be disposed of properly, ie by chucking it into a French car parked with the windows open. Didn't realise you were a New Zealander, OFSO.😁 Fine with a little cloud here today, but only 18C. Spent some time sorting out a problem with Mr. Appl...

The government here pays for the same thing when we hit 75. I combined mine with an appointment to check the thumb I broke when I came off while mountain biking. "No problems with mobility, then?"

Very pleasant day here, 20C, unfortunately spent mainly inside editing photos from camera club excursion yesterday. Mrs. Hydro suffering from what she thought was a head cold since Monday. Had a RAT test today and it's positive. Mine was negative. Both fully vaccinated, so hoping it's not too seriou...

How the hell do they come up with 25 million to hoist a flag to a pole that is already there, the Aboriginal flag has flown alongside the Australian flag previously. Perhaps it is $24,999,900 for planning and kickbacks and $100 to hoist said flag. Would be eye-opening for the general public to see ...

Re my post #1322; Another week gone and still no further scam sms received. Really beginning to wonder if my blast at the previous one worked. However, the Lady formerly known as Mrs Pinky hasn't received any for some time either so..... :-? They seem to be like busses - none for ages, then a bunch...

D1 has a 2 storey + basement house, plus two Newfoundland dogs, one old and one just a yearling. The old one is used to stairs, but the new one just can't get the hang of them. When the old one is sick of the boisterous youngster, she heads up- or downstairs to get away.

OTOH, stuffing 75kWh into a battery in 15 minutes is not for the faint of heart. That's of the order of 1000A charge current, assuming about a 300V battery. A charging station along the same lines as a current filling station with 4-8 pumps would need a power feed rated for a small town. But only i...

.... No sir, I do not! But while we're asking questions, do you know that this is a British car and my wife is driving... on the other side??? Similar thing happened in real life to a bloke driving a LHD army truck rather fastly on Heathcote Rd. in Sydney. The large Holdsworthy military complex is ...

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Just did a job for a state government agency. As I don't have an Australian Business Number (ABN) because I don't have enough turnover these days and my work is classed as a hobby. This means that I can't claim a credit for GST (like VAT) paid on my materials. However, this as OK, as I also don't ha...

Re: The World's on Fire...
Woody & TGG, is this the usual time of year for bush fires in that neck of the woods? It would be unusual, though not unknown, here, but the fire season is starting earlier it seems.
Anyway, hope they are sorted quicky and minimum damage, and all are safe.

This is one of our longest streets, but at least you can play golf as you transit from one end to the other. https://www.australia.com/en/trips-and-itineraries/perth-and-surrounds/crossing-the-nullarbor.html A bloke I worked with in southern NSW was courting a girl in Perth. Hope Punto is OK.
17C, fine & sunny here today, so went for a nice walk in the bush., lugging heaps of camera gear. Took just one photo of a spiders web.
Looking after the Granddog this weekend. He's a 3.5 yo border collie, so I shall have plenty of exercise.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
WRT tyre changing, my daughter learned how to change a wheel before she was released to drive on her own - son wasn't interested. Daughter was always 'at my elbow' as I was doing anything practical - changing fuses or fitting lightbulbs. Likewise with our daughters. As we were living in the bush wh...
