The object of auto rotation is to have a controlled descent to a safe landing, not a crash landing. Crashes should be avoided where possible. If the chopper has floats fitted, or emergency floats, then if water conditions are ok, then a trained pilot should be able to auto rotate to a safe water lan...

Dont have a licence, but I am RAAF trained Elec fitter (now Avionics tech). Not allowed to work on civi planes, bug smashers. If a plane has bombs rockets bullets and bang seats, I can do 3rd level (independent) inspections.

Go figure.

I used to work on similar stuff, the AC regulator for for the Mirage. I was one of the few guys in Malaysia who could understand how it worked..


The light dimmer in Movie theatres was a Magamp.

There was the RAAF Hostel on Penang, It housed the RAAF Police, medical and dental administration centre for the RAAFies housed on Penang. I also housed a good restaurant and a couple of well patronised bars. It has been demolished now, as the requirement for it died after 75 Sqn and 3Sqn went back ...

I attended the RAAF Holiday camp at Butterworth Malaysia, for 3.25yrs, with the occasional trip th Tengah in Singapore.

It was a great time.
