Grand Orange Lodge loses appeal over Stonehaven parade ban
Phew - thank goodness! The views of over 9900 locals (Stonehaven population in 2021 was 11,060) who signed a petition or who formally objected against this march have prevailed. No closures and boarding up of shops tomorrow so we can go shopping, peace reigns. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-...

Yes, noticed that. Surely that should have indicated in the cockpit and put an end to the formation bit whilst he sorted it out. Presumably being a late mark the u/c operation would be hydraulic as opposed to flying with the left hand and pumping with the right hand as per the very early versions.

Navy Wings on BBC2, Tuesday 19 March at 1830
Navy Wings will be featured in a new episode of Michael Portillo’s Great British Railway Journeys on Tuesday 19 March on BBC2 at 18.30. Whilst flying in the Harvard he is joined in formation by the Navy Wings Seafire Mk XVII and Chipmunk and later visits the Navy Wings hangar at Yeovilton. A 2 minut...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
One of our local "poo people" has "We are #1 in the #2 business" emblazoned on his truck. Catchy. We had a local guy out to clear the pipe between the house and the septic tank as unmentionables were bubbling up though a rodding point. His van had "My business is going down the drain" on the sides.

Sympathies to Mrs Hydro - the pain can be excrutiating. My knee was drained on two occasions before I had the op, with two steroid injections at the same time which worked for a few months each time. Hope she feels better soon.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
….. Scottish Water have a cunning plan to install a giant septic tank but every year it falls off the bottom of Scottish Water's schedule because of "higher priority schemes". I have a contract with Scottish Water to empty our septic tank every three years - the longest period they will accept for ...

Words fail me. Another SNP government funded success story!Police Scotland will no longer investigate every low level crime after the success of a pilot scheme.

Re: Chaos in Scotland.
A great comment from Penny Mordant in connection with the disastrous Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow recently...... The Leader of the House of Commons has joked that she believed the SNP was behind the viral Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow due to: "...its high cost, its poor return and the fact ...

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I have had an American Express credit card, associated with Nectar, since 2005. At the end of every one of those 228 months I have cleared the outstanding balance in full, usually somewhere around £350, mainly for food shopping. Today I received a letter from them to say that they have increased my"...

Re: Delta Pilot Arrested at Edinburgh , Alcohol Involved
The wheels of justice grind slowly...... The pilot was remanded in custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to reporting for duty as a pilot while being impaired through drink or drugs. Sheriff Alison Stirling deferred sentence to later this month for the preparation of reports. http...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Final visit to the physiotherapist this afternoon some four months after my knee op. To paraphrase Larry Grayson, what a grey day - 8/8 at about 400ft, half a mile vis with a constant drizzle.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
An Orkney island adjacent to Stronsay is called Eday. On the FR24 map I happened to see tonight that the airport is named as Eday London Airport. That really is pushing things!

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
It's landed at ABZ so they will be met by an ambulance on stand at Bristows. We were only permitted to take very serious cases direct to the hospital in Aberdeen, otherwise they were taken to the airport as has just happened.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
I see that the SAR S92 helicopter from Sumburgh was airborne from Stronsay airfield about 30 minutes ago and looks to be on a direct track to either ABZ or Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. I trust our Stronsay correspondent is fit and well.
