Every time I got on one of them, it took me to, or through Karachi!

Transport Command a/c that is.

Re: ET crash ADD NBO

I asked about AIRBUS deliveries.

I should imaging they are going to struggle to meet the demand.

Use the method that is tried and proven.

Make every electric vehicle carry a couple of metal crates of glass milk bottles.

I could always hear them rattling along!

Re: Doncaster Floods

A short letter to the Editor of The Times yesterday caught my eye. High means dry "Sir, I am sorry to hear about the devastating floods. But we must stop blaming climate change for all our woes and look at why we continue to build houses on flood plains (the clue is in the name). Names like Fish La...

Air Arabia looks likely to order 120 Airbus 320s rather than 737MAXs. Boeing officially pushes MAX earliest in service date back to January next year https://www.reuters.com/article/us-airbus-nl-air-arabia-orders/airbus-frontrunner-to-win-big-air-arabia-order-sources-idUSKBN1XN19M?il=0 But what sor...

Re: Fuel Tankering (An economic question)?

Ian, that I don't know. I will probably figure it out tonight. There was a mileage counter but it was an air mileage unit, air miles only. Green Satin didn't know anything about airspeed. Ground speed was calculated from the raw Doppler frequency. The Miles Flown counter showed 'ground' miles. What...

603DX, which then led me to find out about Sex Bolts.
Didn't know the name, but I've used them to fasten cabinets together.

Line up cabinets, clamp them together, drill 2 holes, fasten with 'sex bolts', remove clamps and fit doors.

Job done!

Re: Fuel Tankering (An economic question)?

I remember another Goose return, this time the nav was a Tony Court. They did it in a shade over 3 hours, Doppler groundspeed needle in the stops at 700kts and beat the customs officer from Scampton by a good hour and a half. Got me thinking, did this. Although you didn't have a direct indication o...

However, the Commission has recently managed to restore hundreds of graves at Habbaniya war cemetery, west of Baghdad in Iraq. Can't remember the details, maybe Ricardian can. The Boy Entrants Assoc. made contact with the USMC operating from Habbaniya and arranged for photos of a grave to be sent t...

A hung parliament with the Cons having to ally with TBP is Nigel's wet dream. He can force No Deal.
To do that he needs seats in the Commons, and him being there would help his case!

Tea also works as a means of water disinfection, and is the reason Tokyo became the first city to reach 1 million people, and why the rich in London didn't die off whilst the poor beer drinkers survived.
Surely its the boiling of the water to make the tea, that kills the bugs?

Perhaps, like many sensible citizens, you read Investor’s Business Daily for its sturdy common sense in defending free markets and other rational arrangements. If so, you too may have been startled recently by an astonishing statement on that newspaper’s front page. It was in a report on the intent...

OM15, think that you should ask for your £25 back, as this is going to split the vote in marginal seats :-o
That was the 1st thing that struck me.

The Tory party NEED to gain seats, not simply hold the ones they have.

Re: Good aviation nostalgia film/documentaries

Ian, the Vulcans all had Gee 3 up to Spring '64. I suspect it was partly to give them accurate high level fixing, radar silent, on the outbound legs of their war sorties. Our side UK it was no use at all. At Suez the Valiants were tasked for visual bombing but 138 I think opted for the new radar. N...

The RAF are operating in the area From the prison, that was RAF Lindholme? I was there for 2.5 years, my 1st posting from Boy's training. Arrived, still under 17 1/2 as a Boy Entrant, went through LAC, SAC and J/T and left as a Corporal at only 19! The best place ever for promotions. A pity I was p...
