Missed this news. Have watched Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister many times. Brilliant actor. Never heard of Heartbeat.
A soap-opera set in a mythical village, 'inland a bit from Whitby'.

Lovely scenery.

Re: Rant of the Day v2.

No, I have an IPTV subscriptione running through a Mag box, costs me about £10/month and can access TV from just about any country you care to name. At the moment none of the ZA channels is working. When it works, I get SABC News, 1, 2, 3, M-net + M-net movies, ENCA, the SuperSport channels, and so...

The question was, ian, was your statement based on fact or supposition?
Supposition, factious supposition at that, as I had only seen mention of males of Pakistani origin.

Question re. the new Telkom ZA phones. I think Ian16th. may know the answer to this. For various reasons, cable theft being the main one, Telkom fixed line customers are being switched over to handsets which connect to the cellular network via 4G/5G, using a built in SIM card, so there is no physic...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

As contrasts, Dunkirk is now free on Amazon (or is it Netflix) whereas you can pay for Downtown. I watched Battle of the Bulge last night on Sky Movie channel. I hadn't checked and expected it was a rerun of the original. Then checked and saw it was 2017 version. Unlike the broad canvas of the orig...

As in the Stratus high end server and networking fault tolerant solutions? I thought they, i.e. Stratus focused on servers and large networks requiring high availability like banks, hospitals, emergency services and the like but I guess many principles therein are valid in modern commercial aircraf...

Re: More Boeing Bad News

Anyone know if the Stratus model of fault tolerant computer hardware has been used, or even considered for use in aircraft systems?

It has been successfully used in Process Control systems.

Time to gently inject the query - has the 'racial' problem all along been any preponderance of a particular 'religion' amongst the perpetrators?
Not a preponderance, but a monopoly.

Slight thread drift. Re: Collisions with objects. Still have quite strong memories of coming across an accident - lots of police, ambulances, etc, late at night driving back from Shepperton to Staines. A horse had got loose and had been standing sideways on to the traffic on a narrow lane. Typical ...

The earlier version of Glenn Campbel's 'Gentle on my mind' ws made rather late in his life.
This is a version from when he was in his prime.
