Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Both my grandfathers died before I was born.

My father died while my wife was preggers with our son.

When Dil told us she was preggers, I got very twitchy.

Grandson is now 16!

Re: Trivia Question of the Day

OK lets try an odd one! In the days when Ground Combat Training became Ground Defence Training and we started playing with Geiger Counters and Dosimeters, we measured radiation in Roentgens (sp) Nowadays, if the radiation comes from a Linear Accelerator, what are the units of radiation that are used?

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Daughter and family now aboard Hull ferry for Rotterdam. Got to their cabin only to find a man lying on the bed. Went back to reception, got upgraded to a Club class suite. 😊 I used to slip the steward a £1 note to get exclusive use of a shared cabin. This was c.1974-6. One of the ferries went to t...

What fish is like a 'ray'?
Skate?

Maybe my bony experience was skate?

It was 70 years ago . . .
I like Skate, one of my favourite fish.

We used to get plenty of it in Joburg, but I can't remember ever seeing it down here in KZN.

Oh now I see the word 'Hake'! (for the first time ever!), it's never on the label at the shops!
What is called 'Hake' in SA isn't bony.

When it is smoked/dyed it changes into 'Haddock".
