Re: Peregrine falcons at Worcester Cathedral

The word originally meant "foreign," as did its Latin predecessor peregrinus. But even before peregrine appeared on its own in English, it was part of the name of that well-known bird of prey, the peregrine falcon. The bird's appellation derives from "falco peregrinus"—literally, "pilgrim falcon" in...

Re: Chaos in Scotland.

One of the contenders in the election is Kate Forbes, who as a former SNP 'Finance Minister' should be in a good position to advise on the current (ALLEGED) financial improprieties.

From The Times and The Sunday Times - paywalled, of course.... Re: Airlines reliant on GPS

The problem is that because GPS is far more accurate and normally reliable it is written into airline SOPs. There are, hopefully, a few pilots left who can actually navigate and not just follow the 'magenta line', and I'm sure the route and approach to that airfield could have been achieved without ...

Re: JFK Up-cock

AvHerald has it now. Not long for Juan to chip in. It really is time the US learnt how to do ATC safely. That's two gross aerodrome ground control errors in 2 days, this one and Washington giving two aborts due to blocked runways. Time for the firing squad?
