Re: The US Hamster Wheel

I'm pretty much on board with boing 's recent posts. I certainly don't claim any exclusivity based on any uniform or other societal status accorded to airline pilots. That fact is that I was an hourly employee, and I walked a long road to get to the pinnacle of the profession - Delta Air Lines - whe...

Re: General Election views

Ben , your ignorance knows no bounds.
I can only agree. There is so much I do not know. But I try to keep learning.

Somehow, though, I sense your post was not a friendly point of debate, but rather an intended smear.

Re: The US Hamster Wheel

Seeing as how I retired from USAF in 2004, and from Delta Air Lines in 2016, none of my uniforms hold any rank at all. Now I'm just an old retired fellow, no threat to anyone. I have respect for the garbage man who puts in a hard day's work and earns an honest living. In fact, when I ultimately win ...

Re: The US Hamster Wheel

No. I think your premise is fraught with mischaracterization. "Bray like a demented donkey". Do you expect me to take you seriously? And Alison , most everyone my age didn't want to be drafted during the Viet Nam war years. I evaded by going to college and making good enough grades to maintain my dr...

Re: General Election views

I see indigenous as people who are where they are right now. They may not have originated there, and I don't include illegal immigrants among the indigenous. Further, I see the importation of non-indigenous immigrants as generally damaging to the survival of the truly indigenous.

Re: Chaos in Spain

I'm still forming my life view, but a newer tenet of my philosophy is that when the people began to become disinterested in the news, lose their interest in key issues, focus on entertainment, et al.; that is a key indicator of disengagement and it lethal to the sustainability of the culture. Every ...

Re: General Election views

I just had an epiphany. Why can't we declare a sort of moratorium in which all the indigenous peoples stay where they are, work to build their societies, live in concert with the rest of the world, share what they can, and propel a higher level of humanity? While 'diversity' seems to be the order of...

Re: The US Hamster Wheel

Thinking about your post, Slasher, and I always pay attention to your posts, what I like about President Trump most is his openness and clarity in delivering what he's thinking, constantly, through Tweets, rallies, press sessions, etc. He's the most open president we've had in generations. And as a ...

Re: The US Hamster Wheel

What you have pasted, Boac, is just another breathless Trump-hater creatively conceiving yet another smear. On the ground, the economy is grinding out new gains and record highs in the markets, and employment spread around all groups and ethnicities reaches continual new highs. Such advances haven't...

Re: General Election views

Regarding Tony Blair, he became a pariah when he found common ground with George Bush II leading up to and executing the second Gulf War. Like George, Tony was convinced by the intelligence available to him that Iraq possessed proscribed chemical weapons. Those weapons were not found, but it's not c...

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion

Respect to you as well, Pontius Nav . One observation though is that not long ago UKIP and lesser right-wing parties were outliers, squawking about immigration, and a general sentiment that UK was circling the drain of decline and cultural debasement. From my standpoint at the outer reaches of the A...

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion

What is the meaning of the Brexit Party after Brexit? That's a key question. I hope the answer is they can assume the mantle of power to implement policy that enables them to re-establish UK as a sovereign nation able to once again act in its own interest. I think a strong, independent UK makes for...

Re: The US Hamster Wheel

What I want is for the voters to decide in November 2020 who their president is going to be. That's how we always did it until now. Since taking the House in 2018 Democrats have been singularly focused on removing the president from office but have yet to raise any legitimate charges of actual crimi...

Re: Climate Disruption.

Pilots just work the knobs and levers My experience is that's where the easy money is if you get the right gig. Thriving off of GW takes a bit of artistry and a good line of BS to convince the masses they're in a non-existent crisis, then take their money. As a native of Michigan I would be quite p...

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion

My uninvited advice is to get Brexit done at all costs. After that you can work out the details as a free and independent nation. As a free and independent American I stand on my chair and cheer Brits asserting their own Freedom. As such Brexit Party best represents my sentiments.

Re: Children's Climate protests.

You're exactly right, OFSO. GT is a stage prop, trained to promote an agenda, indoctrinated, and presents the polished sentiment of climate activists' righteous indignation to the world. She's indeed too young to have developed any deep thought or analysis of the climate issues. She is but a puppet....

barkingmad , I thought you and I were of opposing outlooks, but on the matter of Brexit, and judging by the vid you posted above I think we have some common ground. My take, as of today, is that TBP is UK's destiny, so long as it remains outside Islamic control. It represents the will of the curren...
