Re: RFA crew shortage as well as a Rear Admiral shortage....

Re: New Zealand

We used to watch TVNZ and/or Newshub at 6 pm. The blatant left wing bias shown by the political reporters beggars belief. Every news story about the Government has an angle carefully worked out to criticise them. I think that some of the things they have done have been pretty badly handled but they ...

Re: RFA crew shortage as well as a Rear Admiral shortage....

Thank God we have Capita to guard against white, privileged blokes like this from joining! Computer says no. What a bloody shambles. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/09/navy-turning-away-people-ready-to-fight-for-britain/ There are young officers passing out at the parade, ranking from midsh...

Re: New Zealand

Nobody could have seen this coming - there's no wind and an icy southerly drift - leading to very cold temperatures overnight - and then the windmills don't turn! Well who'd have guessed? Hopefully this project can be up and working before there are many more embarrassments, but they're not even st...

Re: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Shortly after his last quick trip to London, Harry told “Good Morning America” that he thought his father’s illness could help bring his family closer. As long as Daddy publicly apologises for treating Meggypoos and Harrypoos so badly... The illness also brings the chances of a significant will and...

Re: Bristow crews vote for strike action - shades of 1977?

Good old 'Depressing Journal' - that's not a Bristow aircraft in the photo is it? Well before I flew with Bristow one man was in control - the stories about him are legendary - but there was a fierce loyalty amongst his employees. When I joined there was a faceless board of directors as AB had sold ...

Re: New Zealand

I wonder if there were ever any problems with FENZ pay issues before Datacom were asked to 'improve' the system. Why did PSe give notice? If Datacom failed to provide what it was asked to do, can the Government (aka taxpayers) recoup any of its outlay? Did Datacom ever get to a contract stage? (-| D...

Re: New Zealand

Maybe it's about time they were all sent home to reflect on what sacrifices have been made, especially in the 20th Century, to enable them to speak freely on any subject. Some misguided souls left a lot of graffiti around the country and dyed ponds and fountains red on Anzac Day. I hope the police a...

Re: Malaysian navy helicopters collide mid-air

Back in 2003, seven were killed when two AEW Sea Kings collided in the Gulf. The seventh man was a USN officer observing the AEW versions in action. The controller thought the two pilots were visual with each other - one inbound and one outbound. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2007/jan/04/iraq.milit...

Our ships visited Copenhagen in 1967 and nearly all the cadets went to visit the brewery. Carlsberg and Tuborg tastings after the lecture were excellent. Sadly I've now lost the little enamel elephant lapel badge.

Sturgeon doorstepped and explains what it's like at home at the moment. Awkward over the breakfast table maybe, discussing when the knock at the front door might be for her. Schadenfreude anyone, but maybe she can wriggle out of this one too? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13327887/Nicola-...
