Re: Rant of the Day v2.
Was at the local T.esco today about 1700, it is a very large one but was almost out of salad stuff. Unusual for us to go on a Monday so don't know if that is the norm but I was surprised. We normally have a delivery from them every 10 days or so and that is the only time I peruse the availability, I...

Re: Peregrine falcons at Worcester Cathedral
I am pleased the runt is making it, I was worried about him/her earlier. Still seems to be at the end of the queue for food though. Mrs 1DC's father was a steeplejack at one time in his life and I think his daughter has the genes. She can stand on the edge of a cliff without problem whereas I cannot...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread VI
It isn't quite perfect in Paradise, or, as the majority would say it is a grotty day on the Humber just as it was yesterday and is forecast to be tomorrow! 15C with frequent rain showers and no wind to blow it all away.I had intended to look after the roses and give them a dose of fertiliser, all th...

Orcas will kill when they are not hungry, watched them separate a new born whale from its mother once and then kill it. They then just ate it's heart and left it.

Re: Darwin Awards
When I worked one of the chaps I worked with went on holiday to the Dominican Republic and went on a rafting trip with his wife. He said it was a disaster, very frightening and half the people fell out with the good swimmers having to work hard to rescue the weak ones. A couple of days later two peo...

I forgot to add this is the first year I have watched it for many years and overall I thought it was a load of rubbish.

Re: The totally-totally non-political show of all times: 'united by music' - Eurovision song contest!
I understand you can apply to participate in the competition and you pay an entry fee! Australia were invited for a reason that I cannot remember. Last year the BBC staged the competition in Liverpool on behalf of the Ukraine who were otherwise engaged, apparently it cost between 14 and 18 million p...

I would like the Israeli girl to do well just to pi$$ off the professional protesters squatting outside. Same protestors would be off like a shot if they thought a better cause would get them more publicity.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
The weather guessers here in the UK are saying the visibility should be good to see the aurora tonight if we get any but on the Humber it looks as if we are getting bit of fog. It is HW at 2100 so it may clear up after that!!

Before we went to bed last night at 2300 we had a look for the Aurora but nothing to be seen.Thiis morning the local paper and t'internet was full of the best aurora pictures seen in living memory all starting at mid night. Mrs 1DC and I were well away by then. Amazing colours though reds, yellows a...

In the Russian bus crash, the drivers wife says he worked 20 hours the day before and was then forced to work the morning shift the next day! He survived and was arrested.

Friends daughter was number two in a fairly large admin department in the local council, her boss was retiring and she was getting promoted to head of department. Two months before it happened the council employed a fancy organisation to reorganise the council departments. Her department was reorgan...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Yesterday I don't think there was even a ripple on the Humber, you would hardly have detected even a gentle zephyr on your cheek bone and the temperature reached 19C and we finished most of the outside stuff and sat outside with a glass of champagne to celebrate! Today it is as dull as dishwater and ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
A nice day on the Humber got up to 18C and we got well into the pressure washing of the front slabs, tomorrow is forecast to be similar so I expect we will get it finished. The trouble is it makes you tired and gives you a good excuse to go to bed early, unfortunately for the first time for some year...

Thankyou for talking about boobs, Mrs 1DC was supposed to ring up and organise her inspection about a month ago. She has clearly forgotten. I will go and remind her!
