One imagines that the Japanese, of all people, had had plenty of opportunity to do this study with a large number of victims over differing periods and radiation ...

RAF Brize Norton it was. Although most of the Concorde training was done at Fairford, this particular shot was taken at Brize. And a right pain it was too. Wasn't Brize runway closed at the time for resurfacing and all flights had to use Fairford. I worked in Brize ops at the time and we rushed over to Fairford to set up a temporary ops room. If I remember correctly.
