Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

With the Sproglettes away at Latitude with their half sister for the weekend, I suggested to Senora Larss that we go for a nice, romantic meal at a place of her choice before coming home and making a lot noise. She has chosen a place called Cosmos which seems to be a fancy 'all you can eat' buffet w...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Nice to see you back, Nigel. Just watch those bloody medics there. They can be thieving bastards. Before my MiL died of cancer they performed 2 unnecessary operations on her largely because they knew her daughter was married to a foreigner and had money. Sproglettes are off to Latitude tomorrow and ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Started off bright and sunny this morning so extended walk with the Black Bitch after dropping off the Sproglettes at the bus stop.

Highlight of the day will be watching Sproglettes at school sports day. Sproglette Senior has, one fears, taken on too much and is running 800 and 1500 metres😰

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Enjoy Italy, Magnus! If you fancy a bit of history and some great scenery, may I suggest a day trip to Asiago. The airfield there is the highest in Italy as well as being one of the oldest as it was active in WW1. Lots of battles fought around there. Worth doing some research first and avoid the wee...

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?

In between watching an exciting afternoon of sport, one has been preparing: Slow roasted brisket of beef in a red wine sauce (Merlot. And have quaffed most of the rest of the bottle) with onion, mushrooms and other veg. Roast taters. Asparagus wrapped in bacon with a soy, honey and butter glaze. App...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

British GP tomorrow.

So here's a totally boring snippet for you:

Back in 1999, Silverstone became the busiest airfield in the World on the day of the Grand Prix. All done VFR. Over 4000 movements.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Just completed booking flights to Davao mostly with QR.

Now have to plan Italy trip to take the DG somewhere and commit some serious aviation.

Problem is that the Sproglettes want to come with me. Might have to look at an aircraft swap deal.

Re: Home in Mexico?

I was first in Belize Inthe mid 70's and nearly bought a 'hotel/diving business' on Ambigris Cay. Went back I the mid 80s and the place seemed to be going downhill then. Drove many a time up through Quintana Roo to Cancun and explored the area described by Ben There. It is, indeed, quite lovely. But...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Nice day today. Woke to a decent effort on a dawn chorus coming through the window. Coffee. Set off with the Black Bitch for a wander through the countryside at about 0500. Nothing moving. Except the local animay life. No traffic noise. Airport not yet open. No-one else's tracks showing in the dew. ...

Re: The Person Below Me...

Indeed I do but not from a voyeuristic point of view. I sent part of the last few years of my working life investigating 'events'. The most investigated events are aircraft accidents. The methodology used is superb especially in reference to human factors. Over a period of time, I used some of these...

Re: It was 1983

A quick turn and thread drifting to an aviation theme..... There used to be a nice little aviation museum at Wangaratta. Sadly, I understand that the bastards on the town council sold off all the exhibits. Ozzie place names can be a bit of a trial. True story: During a gliding comp in pre GPS days y...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Yesterday, I was in full taxi driver mode ferrying the Sproglettes to football matches in the morning and drama, singing and dance classes in the afternoon. This all between dog following and culinary duties. Too hot during the day for the Black Bitch so always up early plus a decent evening walk. T...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Daughter from first marriage will be at Glastonbury and has been to every one for the last 20 years but she is in the industry and has clients there. Her husband is also appearing on one of the minor stages. They both claim to love it and anyway, I suppose for them it is tax deductible. We have plan...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Pontius, dear chap. Are you trying to get me banned from this august forum? Without going into too much detail, there are two types of tongue piercing; the tongue and the frenulum. Most such piercings are done to the fairer sex. The piercing allows additional stimulation of the male preputium and gl...

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?

Well done, Magnus! What are called the 'poorer cuts' of beef are, in fact, often more flavourful. Slow cooking makes them more tender and renders any fat.

As a polite suggestion, may I suggest adding some oyster sauce to the mix and press through a sieve for a delicious sauce.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

Had a girlfriend who was into ink, piercings and kinky things.
Her boobs were each decorated with a spider web at the centre of which was a silver spider mounted on piercing covering each nipple.
Looked good and tasted even better.😘

Re: Wot's for Tea, Ma?

Just back from our local butcher (who won the 2018/2019 UK 'Butcher of the Year' award) after having snagged a kilo of beef short ribs. Beauties they are!

They will be slow cooked in a red wine oyster sauce with red onions and whole garlic.

To be served with spicy, sticky rice.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

I didn't realize you were a bee keeper, UP. Useful little buggers, bees. 🐝 Much to my shame, about 20 years or so ago, I am afraid I was responsible for wiping out a colony. My recollection is that I had come over from RAFG to fly a comp from, I think, Bicester. Didn't do particularly well in the co...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

As an ex biker, all I can say, OM, is '*sh*t*! That was close'. Something not dissimilar caused this coward to give up biking. Weekend spent ferrying the Sproglettes to football tournaments or their dancing/singing performance (West Side Story). Dunno where they get the energy; I'm knackered just wa...
