Re: Electric Cars II - Not Silly!
Another thing to consider is how much maintenance an EV needs compared to a petrol car. Basic stuff such as brakes and wheels is going to be the same, and I guess if it's a single-motor car then there is some form of transmission, but I wouldn't expect it to need much routine maintenance. Anything e...

Re: Desktop Won’t Wake Up
All that I had was an old iPad that has a very tired battery. They want almost what a used iPad costs just to replace the battery. ~X( Consult YouTube, see if there's a step-by-step guide to replacing the battery yourself. I've done that to a few phones and laptops, although we don't have Apple pro...

Re: FOD Plod Needed at Denver
PP this is one of the reasons why you should always carry out your checks You are not seriously expecting pilots to bend down and look under the engines, are you? They might get dizzy or lose their balance or spill their take-away coffee - and it might be raining......... =)) Surely if it's raining...

OK, no it isn't anywhere near there, that was guess based on the origin of the symbol on the side. It's the Elephant Gate at the Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
One of Faraday's puppies is following in her footsteps. First weekend running FastCAT, Mini will have a published score of 24.51 when the paperwork is finally complete. That puts her top of the rankings this year (assuming there's no other fast Leos out there also awaiting paperwork processing) and ...

Re: My first car
I have lived in Bath twice, Llondel, so you have my understanding and sympathy! It's a nice place - I was impressed with myself when, on visiting after a 15 year absence, I still remembered how to navigate my way through the city without assistance of any maps or gadgets. Definitely not flat though!

Re: My first car
My driving instructor informed me that my examiner was well disposed towards service personnel, and I would be bound to pass if I could find some way of dropping the hint. The first question I was asked was "On approaching the vehicle, what is the first thing you check for?" My immediate and instin...

Re: My first car
I had al All-aggro for my first car. Did about 400 miles on a pint of oil, I could lay down smokescreens hundreds of yards long. It had a square steering wheel, too. Changed car within a year.

Afternoon all, nice warm day here. Just got back from the Leonberger Nationals in New Mexico. They finished last week but we took an extra one to drive back more slowly. Visited Roswell to see the aliens, White Sands and the cliff dwellings at Gila, as well as Los Alamos. Yesterday was the Petrified...

I find it interesting that none of the automatic alert stuff seems to have flagged the problem.
I wonder if ATC staff pack clean underwear? That was probably better than coffee to wake her up for her shift.

Re: Passengers Behaving Badly
The video showed one of the AA ground staff said she wanted to press charges, but later changed her mind when police explained she would need to take time off work and appear in court. This one is on the airline. They should be supporting their staff by paying them while they're in court, because i...

Re: TBM960 Down at Truckee, CA, 2 Dead
Used to fly in/out of Truckee frequently many years ago. I would take students up there for moutain training in helicopters. Very unforgiving airspace for an airplane in bad weather. Pretty unforgiving for ground vehicles too, as you try to get through Donner Pass. And on foot, as the party after w...
