Re: Birthdays
There seems to be a little confusion; I am not the man of the cloth. I see that Jim the Rev has now changed his birthday from July to December! No problem, I will forward the salutations at the appropriate time 😉. Thank you for the best wishes Mrs Ex-Ascot, Karearea, and of course to those sent in e...

Re: Another Plane That I Have Flown Has Crashed
Two for me; both ended up in the mountains. Rather sobering after I found out. Nothing big, four seaters.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Quack is experimenting now with stugeron for my dizziness. Bloody pharmacist put double the recommended dose on the packet. I slept until 08.20 and am still dizzy. About 10 years ago I was on a project in the middle of the Amazon jungle. I woke up one night with the room spinning. I tried opposite ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
I was thinking about uses for your endoscope 4ma. It occurred to me that with the current wait times etc with the NH you could use it for a self colonoscopy and save all the problems with going to the hospital etc. I suppose though it wouldn't eliminate the rather unpleasant preparation phase (been ...
Re: Birthdays
I really must apologize to all that wished me a happy birthday: Ex-Ascots, Pinky, OFSOs. I don’t usually peruse this section and only came across it today. I must admit that at my age I’m not a great fan of my birthdays. Still, life has been good to me and wish the best to all the rest of the Ops No...

I also now have plastic ties on the car. Means carrying a pair of 88's in the car to cut the ties in case of a puncture and they need checking themselves as they disintegrate in UV light. Bit late with a reply OFSO, but black cable ties are much more resistant to UV, even the ones not specifically ...

Re: Australia kicks out Novak Djokovic
I am bowing out of this argument since it's turning into a perfect Monty Python script. We are part of the human race, we have to abide by certain rules or we cease to exist (might actually be happening). Basically agree with everything FD2 has written and disagree with Dushan plus I like TGGs summa...

Re: Australia kicks out Novak Djokovic
Correct FD2, I missed the significance of what PN was saying.I understood that he was pointing out that 81% of that 80-90% occupancy was taken up with un-vaccinated or partially vaccinated people?
By the way, I liked the cartoon; my solution was to buy noise cancelling earphones.

Thanks FD2, actually my Portuguese is pretty pathetic, but is particularly bad when being reprimanded by the wife. Hearing becomes bad as well!

Re: Australia kicks out Novak Djokovic
I recently contracted Covid and almost certainly the Omicron variant. In total I felt unwell for maybe 3 days but did not need to stay incapacitated in bed. I have had 3 vaccinations but, as is well documented, does not provide complete protection from Omicron. I live in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The ...

Re: Handsfree (Eric)
Very rarely post on the forum but very sad news of Eric and wish his family the best. As I get older I get more and more reminders of how short life is and, maybe somewhat selfishly, wonder what the point of it all is. Having said that I hope there is a point to it all and that Eric finds it.

Ex A, I thought it interesting that you mentioned getting more rain this year. We are getting inundated. This time of year it's normal we are under the influence of the South Atlantic inter tropical convergence zone. I don't know what it might be called in Botswana but although our respective countr...

Santa Claus... boyfriend. I have accepted that some people are different; even some friends with whom I have no problem because they are discreet. However, to me that advert is tasteless.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Thanks for the pointer UP. Yep, the wait might be a problem. The other one is that import duties to Brazil are criminal (along with a lot of other things). I would have to travel to GB when this covid thing goes away(?) to make it worth while. Actually my age could be a problem as well; may not live...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
I went into the Main Stealer of Rolexes in Embra's poshest shopping street recently and enquired about buying a particularly desired high end one. The price I was quoted was £6k lower than the current price of a second hand one on the open market, but I was told that the waiting list for a new one ...

A duck walks into a bar and asks, “Got any grapes?" ‘No this is a bar and we don’t serve ducks, now get out of here.” Next day the duck comes back, “Got any grapes?" No I do not and if you come here a gain I’m going to nail your feet to the floor.” Next day the duck comes back again and asks, “Got a...
