Hi Bob.

Wouldn't happen to gave a 13mm ratchet spanner handy, would you?
No, but I can offer a 13mm socket and ratchet handle.

Do I look like someone who would bodge a job? 8-|

There must be a lot of 'girls' who end up sitting in a hotel alone in a room

C'mon, let me have the email address. I'm bored. :D

Re: Rant of the Day v2.

Estate agents. Ahem. Many, many moons ago just after I'd left school........well alright, just after I was left from school (it was a fair cop as I was hardly ever there), a mate suggested I give the estate agent malarkey a go. I wasn't interested until they said "company car" which as an 18-year ol...

Re: Rant of the Day v2.

I've called the police plenty of times (again yesterday). They don't have the staff. If we're lucky they send a PCSO who walks up the road dressed in hi-viz so by the time they get her the miscreants have all farked orf. We too had an incident in the school car park where the parent ignored the No E...

Re: Rant of the Day v2.

Today's rant. We live opposite two schools, have done for about twelve years. We moved here when our daughters were attending them so it was quite handy and we knew there would always be people parked on the road at drop-off and pick-up times. We have a driveway large enough for four cars so no skin...

Re: Shoreham Air Show Plane Crash

I like to think I'd have taken the escape route, I'm happy being a coward when it comes to risk (after spending years of my youth involved in dangerous sports). I like to think that but then perhaps the fact that I'm not drawn to displaying aerobatic aircraft (I'm not saying there's anything wrong w...

Re: Piper Malibu missing north of Alderney!

As for the Wingly thing, I'm exasperated. I saw a PPL(H) with 70hrs TT hawking himself on their website to fly a 20 minute flight to some country hotel in a Robbie for a coupla hundred Quid. If that is legal then there's something wrong with the Law. Not to play oneupmanship but..... A few people h...

Re: Court for pilot of Piper Cherokee which crashed on take off from Barton

Story covered in great detail in this weeks Private Eye. I wrote to them about a year ago suggesting they look in to illegal charters and 'Wingly'-type websites and apps. Miserable barstewards never even acknowledged my missive. That's about right for Private Eye. Cancelled my subscription a couple...

She added the effects that the Shoreham air crash had on air displays "certainly had an impact"
Clumsy choice of words.

Re: Idiots who shine lasers at aircraft

I've been subjected to these attacks half a dozen times and they are at the very least distracting. On those occasions where the operator was able to 'hit' us the light coming entering the cockpit refracted and scattered so looking away was no guarantee of preserving one's eyesight. In the OP Capeto...

"What is the terminal velocity of a sparrow?"

Well firstly she corrected me and said that it's a swallow (Monty Python) and then explained that it's 10 metres per second.
European or African?

Re: Any animal killers here?

I saw the headline to that link and clicked 'X', that's just horrible.

I wouldn't feel the same way about a cage full of chickens and someone could argue that I was being irrational but I cannot even begin to countenance dogs as food.
