Looks very nice, ex-A. Do the thatchers there not put a small symbol on the top, like they do in the UK? A hippo maybe...?

Re: Delta A321neo, Electrical Fire From GPU Hook-up at SEA
...and there, folks, is the perfect safety training video. The video lasts five minutes, but there's probably an hour's worth of features to pick out from that. The most obvious to me was the air bridge. I was taught that if there is a suspicion of fire on an aircraft using an airbridge, you remove ...

Re: Millions of us might be **** if we ignore the Russian-Ukraine war
They caught the perp, not that I'm expecting anything much from that in terms of why. What will tell us what's going on is if Orban gets shot soon too. If not, well, everyone in the Balkans has more enemies than they can count. Even if someone's a Saint, their Great(x20)grandfather probably stabbed...

Re: Air Force T6A Instructor Dies from On Ground Ejection Seat Firing
When I worked at Woodford, there were some Buccaneers in for (I think) a mid-life upgrade. One of the engineers was working in the cockpit when the ejector seat went off, propelling him through the roof. To make matters worse, his body became suspended from the support beams in the roof on the way d...

^! :ymdevil: A military equipment manufacturing plant caught fire in the Moscow region. A fire at an electrical substation in Balashikha the night before. That's on the territory of the FSB unit No 35533, part of the mil research and development staff. Massive explosions in the Crimea, the mil airf...

There are a few in Harlington aren't there, Woody? It's many moons since I was last there, but they were OK then. Possibly worth a look?Woody wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2024 3:38 pmYou could try this place

Hello to the new chapter from the Northamptonshire/Huntingdonshire/Cambridgeshire border. The only wild animal, apart from the roadkill, is this one, which the thick locals think is a cat. From the local FB page:

See Britain did well ^! I haven't watched it for donkey's years, and have no intention of watching it again. It was mildly amusing when Terry Wogan did the background commentary, and he certainly saw it for what it was. It was long-ago hijacked by the gay community, though I have no idea why. Then,...

My abiding memory of Greenland was passing through Narsarsuaq on one occasion with the 748 Coastguarder version. We did all the usual stuff, but were so concentrated on ensuring we had enough fuel and checking the TAFs for Canada, that yours truly forgot to clear the passports. Fearing we would be p...

Having watched a few episodes of Michael Palin's 'Nigeria', currently on UK TV, I can only say that they are welcome to it. The state of the country is appalling and, as might be expected, they faced significant challenges with security, especially when one of the security vehicles broke down just a...

I think the media are getting their refineries and re-supply stations mixed up, just as they do with runways and ramps. From what I've seen, the places that are being hit are pumping stations and re-supply facilities. Many years ago in Siberia, it was explained to me that when the oil comes out of t...

That's an old bird, (30 years), so the usual 'Speedtape' solution won't work there. No doubt a few dollars will be made from flogging off the parts, though. (I'm assuming it isn't adequately insured). I see that it had a couple of incidents in the past, when it was in the colours of Tarom, so an unl...

The cattle have been released from the barns where they've spent the winter. They were so excited at first but it is quite chilly and its been drizzling on and off all day and, just to make the picture complete, the haar has clamped down this evening. Yes, I noticed that 'your' flight had to head b...

I'm not normally a fan of the acting profession, but I was sad to learn of the death of Bernard Hill. He is probably best remembered for his part as Yosser Hughes, the laconic member of 'The Boys from the Blackstuff', a more realistic portrayal of a man driven to the edge of his sanity by the loss o...

Yes, one of the more recent Ukr attacks looked more like a distribution centre to me, rather than a refinery, but no matter, it still chokes the system. It always amazes me that so many of these people fall from balconies in tall buildings. Whenever I visited friends who lived in apartments, the blo...

A couple of reasons are possible fot 9H-GLOBL's routings. Sector training for the pilots. Ie need X number of sectors to be released. That FL looks below RVSM. Numerous reasons for that. Dodgy autopilot, transponder not working properly, felt like it... :) I don't know, just guessing :) Thanks redd...
