Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Morning all, clear and bright morning here in London. Will continue working on a web site today, slow and frustrating work because the help menu keeps telling me of all the wonderful things I CAN do, rather than actually telling me HOW to do them!

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Another frosty morning here in Beautiful Downtown Bermondsey. Had a great weekend recording and mixing the choir for the final track of my new album. Choir harmony lines and a piano solo to record next week end, then it will finally be complete. But for now a big pile of bills, invoices and chores t...

Sad news, a great actor and character from one of my favourite shows.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Bright and sunny but frosty morning, have seen very few real frosts this winter so I welcome it! Angels: the naming is always "interesting": over the way a large commercial/industrial site had a planning application for a 4 storey high school. The council turned it down for various reasonab...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Cheers for the recommendation Ibbie, the choice will ultimately be down to what settlement we get and what that buys us. I am more disposed towards Hastings as I know quite a few musicians there and can pick up a fair bit of work, but time will tell! Three major projects to finish first though!

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Nice to hear from Reddo and Joy Ride. Good luck with the move JR. Where are you planning to move to? Played any good gigs lately? Fed up with home improvements-having a day off. I am retired after all! Thanks LG! With the scale of new development in London, and the total failure of "planners&q...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Nice to see reddo and Joy Ride respectively. How are LTN and Bemondsey respectively?! Not too bad here with lamb roasting in the oven. So I assume the lamb won't agree. Just remembered I have my next arse-cam and accompanying knife-work on Friday. Bugger. Thanks Angels, Beautiful Downtown Bermondse...

The Avro York (as correctly identified) used basically the same wings and engines as the Lancaster.

Re: a device so stupidly useless it is a good project
"Useless" is clearly a tautology. These simple mechanical/electrical devices appeal to us, entertain us, and even sometimes impel us to buy them, therefore they are not useless at all, but triply useful!

Re: a device so stupidly useless it is a good project
The box is fun but the Magnet Machine is much more interesting mechanically and I love the way the balls are magnetically chained and looped, very nicely thought out. Happy and relieved to see that I have not (yet) been deleted by RGB's WPOTG.

Re: a device so stupidly useless it is a good project
I love it! Thanks for posting. I am currently building a 2nd "Gallinae Priemis" (Spring Chickens), similar basic mechanical appeal but no magnets: turning the handle drives a chain which takes marbles to the top of a spiral, while a hen and 6 chicks (on the top) flap wings and pick up worm...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread 1
Nice film, Angels. Interesting to note that many people in the streets could tell they were being filmed so they must already have been familiar with film cameras, but were still curious. I could not help feeling a bit sad, because we are likely to be pushed out of our little corner of Victorian Lon...

Foden Python re-fueler
Found this on Facebook: m As a boy in the 1960s, flying regularly between London and Washington DC or New York airports were exiting places. London Airport was the best. Why? Because of Foden and AEC Pythons, BEA's AEC Regal one-and-a-half- decker coaches, and BOAC/Cunard's Super VC 10s, 1960s icons!

Re: Riding the Granite Waves
That earthquake sounds very alarming. There was one in or near Wales about 30 years ago, and I felt it sitting in a chair on the 6th floor in London. At first I thought I had a gentle twitch in my back, or my neighbour was banging the wall, but gradually realised that the whole large block was movin...

You're welcome! If you get one allow plenty of time to get used to it; if/when you do, you will find yourself wondering why anyone uses a standard mouse!

Re: Of Mice and Men
I have a Kensington track ball mouse. It took a bit of practice, but is infinitely better than anything else! I do a fair bit of music recording/production/editing and this process involves a huge amount of very precise mouse work, and sometimes for 12 hours or more per session. The mouse stays in t...
