Re: Invasion of Europe

I've been thinking the same, OFSO. There are more civilizations that have disappeared. And somehow I can't get the truck with 71 bodies (you need to update, 500N! or at least that was the number I saw last) out of my head. How did they get them IN there? It doesn't look that big even? By telling the...

Jeezz! Fleas! And, Angels!! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-shocked034.gif (what's there to cook, anyway?) Besides, it's gone right now. Was sleeping half an hour ago (I assume, breathing nice and evenly) - not any more. Actually the neighbour said there has been one around in the gardens ...

Weird and weirder

Ok, I step out of our house and who do I see? A hedgehog is walking towards the shed. I have a bundle of a net (or whatever you call it, the plastic-made thing one uses to protect the cherries) in the corner there - I admit I should have stored it properly - and snuggles its way into it. I didn't wa...

Re: Dogs

P.S and you must never ever go to the dog while he's barking (or whining). Try to find even a wee moment of silence, so that he would understand he has to keep quiet.
Positive rewarding/reinforcement, Karen Pryor has a wonderful book on it https://www.dogwise.com/ItemDetails.cfm?ID=DTB116

ok, now we read that he had had real harsh childhood and a dominating father and so he wanted to be a someone, too. That's not so new, unfortunately. Think of Lennon('s killer), for one.

Re: Dogs

Our elderly dachs has a procedure like that: I tell her to go to the spot where she sleeps (under her blanket on 'her' sofa), give her a tiny treat and say:"I'm going to work, sleep!" (regardless to where I'm actually going, it just seems that this word rings a bell). If I just leave, she'...

And I agree with AA on this:
The problem in the USA is a culture that doesn't allow someone to be assessed for mental issues that may lead to causing harm to the individual or others for fear of infringing their rights.

SO cute! Ellie, I mean. Another one, from the Telegraph: http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/03420/lynx_potd_3420443k.jpg This cute lynx kitten seems to have nodded off while climbing a tree. Photographer Cecilie Sønsteby spotted the cute cat in the Langedrag Nature Park in Norway. Picture: ...

Re: Shooting live!!

yeah, there we are. Again. Isn't it interesting. Although I personally really don't see how the gun restrictions could have restricted this particular guy having one? (which is quite different from the mad son that shot his mother and students, or the Norwegian one sitting in jail - and being called...

Dunno. In my mind the most frightening thing is that they think they're happy (if you watch the video-link with them chatting cheerfully) and that they're not alone - think about the Barbie-lookalikes and the 'human Ken'. And that they've not got anything more urgent to do. P.S actually one could bl...

Re: Fairy rings

I'm against plantkiller chemicals on principle (they kill everything else as well) and use boiling water or soapy water (the old-style animal fat based soap).
But generally it seems to me some years are just favorable for some kind of growth or creatures, it need not be the same the next year.

Re: Shooting live!!

Sure, but the most basic things? Like, it's better to run when the shooting is random and hide if the intention is to kill someone specific and one can't run, or that if there's been a car accident and someone's head is covered with sand it's critical to enable the person to get some air. And, of co...
