Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
I can't make out the date but I guess it's in the Australian bush - a look of the 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' about it.

Re: New Zealand
'Posie Parker' has come to the incredible decision that women are female and men are male. The 2000 strong baying mob turned out to challenge her presence in New Zealand and Parker was doused in tomato juice by a trans woman for her outrageous opinions. Not wanting to be more brutally abused by the ...

Re: The Capetonian WOE Thread
I identified the castle but not as the Schloss Adler from the film. My memory isn't good enough to remember what we had at the cinema so that Kia-Ora didn't help me! It's one of the best war films of all time though. We have some friends staying from the UK at the moment so I'm about to get a tellin...

I would call it Hohenwerfen Castle. An Austrian might call it Burg Hohenwerfen?

Hohenwerfen Castle in Austria but that came from the file name, when I tried to expand the photo for clues. I can't take any credit for that, so suggest OH Opsboi?

Odd isn't it? I guess the Norwegian Coastguard took the photos and released them to the news outlets.

Hopefully the management will take the opportunity to reciprocate the gesture of respect to increase their pay offer...but I have my doubts.

Good point, whoever posted it on the other site and for copying it over ricardian. The first of the three rocket motors doesn't ignite until the missile is clear of the sea surface. As far as I know, no RN folk touch the missiles apart from loading before and unloading after a patrol. Northrop Grumm...

No mention of how many F-35 aircraft have been deployed...Hmm :-? . 'Wings' says: “I’m really excited to see the F-35B jets of 617 Squadron embark in HMS Prince of Wales, the first time we have seen this squadron onboard, and the most F-35B jets we have operated at one time.” ;))) Not much of a clu...

Sadly, journos heaping more ignominy on the Navy, Vanguard has a Trident misfire in the range off Florida. All the SSBNs fire a dummy missile as part of their return to service from HMS Resolution onwards. Vanguard recently returned to sea after a refit which took 7 years in Devonport when it was sc...

I've read eight of them - I wonder how many are operational and crewed ashore in the other squadron (809). They might need to put GPS trackers on them in a ship that size but no doubt the Merlins will take up a lot of room. Good luck to the lads and lasses and any others that are at sea on this exer...
