Airbus A321XLR Makes First Flight In Hamburg

HAMBURG—Airbus embarked on the flight test program for the A321XLR, a project that is expected to last around one year and 1,000 flight hours, with the first flight of MSN 11000, the first flight test aircraft, on June 15. The aircraft, powered by CFM International Leap 1A engines, took off from Ai...

Difficult when your bucket is almost full 😆. No one aircraft was older than 25 years when today many are over 25.
But you must have one type in your log, or not, that still brings a gleam to your aircraft sated eye! ;)))

Aircraft I haven't flown but would like to!

I know that it is regarded as a bit infra dig to post aviation posts around the Crew Room but I cannot think of a better place to ask "what if" and dream a little. I know that some here have flown some very interesting types, but unless they are like Eric "Winkle" Brown there must be types that they...

A good summation of what is wrong with the current Tory party under Johnson.

Fitbits, fatbits and the pain of keeping fit in one's dotage.

I woke up this morning feeling knackered, bits of me that I wasn't even aware of were hurting and I wondered" what the hell is wrong with me?", only to receive an e-mail from Fitbit congratulating me of being "in the zone" every day this week and for achieving over 10,000 steps yesterday after runni...

Eros, Philia, Agape!

I appreciate that Latin might be defined as part of the classics, but how did the Isle of Man TT get involved with this erudite dialectic as to what some RAF miscreant(s) may or may not have done within the context of the Greek tradition, whatever the language (even of love) that was being spoken or...

Talk of Bapsfontein and the ersatz South African Country and Western scene led me to think of these "classics! =)) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DOa4Z9iMwM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoO6U8rRWHc and the late, great Jim Reeves sings in Afrikaans... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Juqg7FjWlT8

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V

Don't know about Bitcoins but we have lost enough on the markets in the last year to buy a small brothel. Any suggestions of where? Bapsfontein perhaps! 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Bapsfontein' has a ring to it and a worthy Welsh connotation! Once home to the Witwatersrand cowboy... Bapsfonetein...

Re: Electric Cars II - Not Silly!

Typical of the dim light bulb, low wattage type thinkers in the current British government: The British government is ending its subsidy programme for electric cars with immediate effect. The sudden move only affects newly purchased electric cars. Subsidies for electric vans, electric taxis and elec...

Re: The World's on Fire...

While back in SA 3 weeks ago I drove up to UCT to see the damage caused by the Devil's Peak fire which destroyed the Jagger library, and jumped the double lane highway and raced through the Rose Garden destroying the historic windmill . Apparently it had spread and jumped the peak and was burning d...

Re: Would you fly Air France?

The Blancolirio Channel is really very good. At a 50 lbs torque differential on the columns, one assumes that that must have been some arm wrestle between two pilots who should have known better. Surely a simple, "I have the aircraft" from the captain should have sufficed?
