Re: Darwin Awards
Short story, one of our airman's brother in law had a break in and the burglar was caught after a chase. Police arrived and asked how they knew the man was the burglar. "he's wearing my jacket" how do you know? "my wallet is in the pocket"

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
EA, I prefer mine rare. Reminds me of the coffee shop we walked to along the Tagus. It burst in to flames as we approached. Interesting about matches. Now you come to mention it, it is surprising how common they are here despite smoking bans etc. Certainly not seen book matches on hotels. We used to...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
EA, may I recommend a bamboo cane. Our last home had an ancient (13 Yr old) gas burner, open and in the garage. On ignition it would shoot flame across the garage, I think 8 feet was the record. A match in the end of the bamboo provided a good margin of safety. The replacement boiler, in a cupboard ...

Re: WTF is happening in the UK?
WSC. I went to the family seat about 20 years ago and a walk up the fell. The track passed a rocky scree that the map showed was Ravenstone Dale. In the distance, walking around, were many crows. On closer look we realised they were much further away than we thought. Indeed just over the mountain wa...

Re: More Boeing Bad News
There’s a major problem starting to raise its head in terms of restoring these aircraft because while out of service for nine or 10 months, they need to be kept operating, otherwise they deteriorate,” said Hugh Ritchie, chief executive of Aviation Analysts International, an Australian air safety co...

Oh we certainly do have the hammering rain from time to time EA01. May not last long but hammer it can. +1C here and light rain/sleet at present. Forecast dreichness for the rest of the day. EA mentioned London. As many Londoners are trodlodyts they probably fear floods rather than hammers. As you ...

Mrs PN seems a sucker for some of this misinformation in particular concerning Sussex and China if you get my drift.
I guess she is not alone here.
Must admit I miss Slashers presence as he gave us an information feed from Asia. Fox3 from Canada I miss for the same reason.
