Ian, how yester year. Two years ago our bank would send out new devices rather than have us do a battery change. Now they offer a recycling service as the devices have been obsolete for a couple of years. You are in the UK! Getting a new device to me is a DHL transaction, and takes a couple of week...

Re: Vigil, Winching and a Sea King.....

A Decca story. During my last months in the RAF, I was offered a job by Decca. It was sitting on the end of the production line, testing and de-snagging new build kit. I didn't take the offered job, as it was in Surrey and even in 1965 the salary offered was way below what was needed to buy a house ...

Don't worry about it. The 1st pic showed a silhouette that gave me the wrong impression of its 3D shape.

Anyone know what 'tail warning' radar was fitted to the RN Buccaneers?
Odd shape in the one illustrated.
It isn't the shape it looked like in the 1st pic.
This is a little clearer.

If there was any sort of accurate radalt during WWII, it was very very secret.
The 1st remotely avcurate one I saw was Radalt V as fitted to the V- Bombers.
I did a course on it mid 1957. It didn't impress me as a product.
