Earth's inner core .....stopped turning and could go into reverse
Hope none of you guys are still using inertial nav systems. My knowledge of gyroscopic precession is somewhat dated. But do remember that spinning of earths core had some involvement. The rotation of Earth’s inner core may have paused and it could even go into reverse, new research suggests. The Ear...

Re: Yeti Airlines Crash
Meanwhile, a video being widely shared online was allegedly filmed and broadcast on Facebook Live by one of the passengers in the final moments of the flight. Before having the honour of taking the LHS to earn a crust put in the years as a Radio LAME. Tracking down cross channel interference betwee...

Not a Friday joke as such, but eminently funny.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V
Fortunately my place is close to the top of a hill. Thursday my weather station registered 42mm of rain in a 12 hour period. That's an awfully lot of dampness.

Golf and LIV consortium
For all golfers, especially those with an interest in the LIV consortium. Their big pay packets will be coming out of your pockets. Do you really want to support LIV.

Re: Subs payments please!
I have no recollection at any time of agreeing to members having to pay to use Ops Norm. People can contribute IF THEY SO WISH BUT IT IS NOT COMPULSORY. Significantly reducing the membership is also pretty stupid. I've had three enquiries from old members who have now found themselves kicked off due...

Re: HM Queen Elizabeth
Everything seems to have gone remarkably well. Had an expectation that some group of nutters from the Middle East would try for the extra publicity. So massive congrats to MI5 and the Metrop. Police.

Re: HM Queen Elizabeth
Sixty plus years since I recounted this. Copied from my Attestation Papers. "I,...................... swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will, as in duty bound, honestly and faithfully...

Re: Doggy not well
Myf had a double layer coat which she shed continuously. I would have to vacuum every second day. And even then there would be rolls of dog fur skidding across the lounge floor whenever I opened a door. I intend replacing her, but taking a break in the mean time. The thing with dogs is that they are...

Re:- ADS-B. You people know nuffink. When I first started playing with this stuff, it was known as IFF X on Vulcans. That was Identification Friend or Foe. It had evolved from a transponder first developed during WWII. Then they added altitude reporting on Mode C, and off it went.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. They've been greatly appreciated. Still miss her terribly, keep looking around to see where she is.

Re: Doggy not well
Myf RIP. Took her to the vet this morning. Found a nice "family" vet, really nice old chap. He gave her a thorough going over, plus blood tests. Said her kidneys were shot - urea and creatinine very bad. Said there wasn't much to be done. So I agreed to her being euthanised there and then. Very sad ...

Re: Doggy not well
Success I hope. Defrosted some whiting fillets for my dins. Dipped them in flour and popped them into frying pan on low heat. Wasn't up to doing additions - vegies extra. And Myf wandered across - drawn by the smell. Put large piece of cooked whiting in open palm and offered it to her. She scoffed i...

Re: Doggy not well
Whilst she is spending a lot of time curled up asleep, when awake she is quite alert, trotting around behind me around the house. Ears stuck up straight as well, and looking quite bright eyed. Still absolutely no interest in food though. Being Winter down here, and very wet with it, she hasn't had a...

Doggy not well
My doggy is not well. Hasn't eaten anything for a good ten days. Seen two different vets. Neither able offer any clues as to why. External checkups suggest nothing untoward. One vet happy to spend lots of my funds - from exploratory surgery, lots of blood tests, etc. etc. Dr Google suggests not unus...
