Unless it’s made of styrofoam, I don’t think so.
Here's a two year old video - it's real enough! The bit at 3:12 is impressive.

Re: Saw Safety

When I was at woodwork school the asbestos wall behind the table saw operator had a number of holes in it, each signed by the operator who had experienced the kickback. Some of those names went on to become quite acclaimed woodworkers. I've also seen a tooth come off a blade and go through the wall...

Re: Baltimore bridge collapse

Perhaps they need Sleipnir. Two revolving cranes can lift up to 20,000 tonnes in tandem. In my day I thought Hermod was big but this is huge. Edit, posted the Hermod photo in error - here's the Sleipnir, decommissioning the Brent Alpha in 2020. The jacket weighed 10,100 metric tons. Sleipnir (1).jpg...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V

In our rural setting the roads are few and far between. In their wisdom Aberdeenshire Council Roads Department have notified two separate diversion routes to avoid two places near home where two separate roads are closed for maintenance this week. The only problem is that both diversions take you to...

Re: Octopus Agile electricity tariff UK

The electricity board tree cutter guys seem to come round about every four years and have a look at where our line runs next to the adjacent small wood. I phoned them a couple of years ago as about 6 sycamores had grown up in our garden and were within falling distance and close to the line as well ...

Re: Octopus Agile electricity tariff UK

Just received tomorrow's prices for 24 hours for our UK Octopus Agile tariff. Here's a snapshot from my phone for 0600-1600. Many hours of 0p/kWh and two half hour periods where they pay us to use electricity. Looks like there will be a couple of washing loads done, plus the dishwasher run and a fiv...

That is scary looking at the apprehension of the pilots in the crewroom and watching those night landings in that sea state. So much easier in similar conditions for us helicopter guys to stop and land rather than to land and stop like the fixed wing pilots.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread V

The UK £0 annual car tax for electric cars becomes £158 in April 2025. My £0 annual car tax expires in July this year. Just retaxed the car online at £0 for another year. It now expires in March 2025 at which point I'll retax it for another year at £0 a few weeks before the expiry of £0 rate. Saved ...

Grand Orange Lodge loses appeal over Stonehaven parade ban

Phew - thank goodness! The views of over 9900 locals (Stonehaven population in 2021 was 11,060) who signed a petition or who formally objected against this march have prevailed. No closures and boarding up of shops tomorrow so we can go shopping, peace reigns. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-...

Re: Navy Wings on BBC2, Tuesday 19 March at 1830

Yes, noticed that. Surely that should have indicated in the cockpit and put an end to the formation bit whilst he sorted it out. Presumably being a late mark the u/c operation would be hydraulic as opposed to flying with the left hand and pumping with the right hand as per the very early versions.
