With the failure of SAA's attempted re-start, they probably hope to pick up some of the crumbs.

....and maybe the pilot in charge was so relieved at getting out of the hellhole that is Linate, he relaxed too much, just as something went wrong.

Admin's finest hour was the impeccable way in that they handled my posting from the V-Force to Akrotiri during the Cuban Crisis.
This was done without the slightest hiccup, and I was on an accompanied passage with my new wife.
