........But possibly replace their avatar with something like this.
Good idea, but perhaps only if they hadn't established an Avatar of their own, if so, probably more appropriate to keep theirs, with the T/X idea, or maybe just "Inop" - after all, for them it's no longer OpsNormal !!

I currently only have one spectacle case, the small narrow type that hold the half-moon readers, and I'd love another one or two for the millions of pairs of cheap glasses I have around the house, ...

Re: It was an interesting Flight
Can't honestly say I "learned", 'cos I knew it was wrong from the start. During my early airline service, 'tho engaged as a pilot I was employed as a navigator, but in recognition that it was all their fault that we weren't keeping our pilot licences valid, the company stationed a fleet of...

H.M.Queen Elizabeth the Second demanded my presence for 2 years as a member of her Armed Forces. As a recently qualified photographic apprentice, at the initial medical assessment I approached the RAF recruitment team and asked to be considered as a member of the RAF Photographic Unit, after all, if...

.........wiry metal frames that bend and twist and get out of alignment. The next ones will be massive unbreakable (hopefully) plastic. Any thoughts, guys ? If you really mean unbreakable plastic, then OK, but at least the bent wire ones can be re-bent to an acceptable shape ? I find that it is the...

Plenty of Polo shirts out there with pockets, you just have to refrain from buying those without
Not in the New Zealand equivalent of WalMart !! ( as you say, price dictates ) and can't afford the likes of Dolce Gabanna !

I put a disc out, trying to start a reluctant Flymo. It was the 1st time I tried to start the beast after its winter hibernation. I've never got on with 2 stoke engines, My Flymo was re-christened " the F***ing Flymo" ( which didn't do its f***ing, which was the point ) Eventually - I was...

Re: BREXIT - A Poll & Discussion
Dirk you are not a UK resident, OK, so remove me ENTIRELY from the UK Tax and Inheritance Tax regime which still demand my attention - go on, do it, otherwise give me the same vote as those who have only recently arrived in Britain, to escape conditions under which they previously lived, and to enjo...

Dirk - I agree with all that Alison said in her reply to you (#27). I left from choice of course, but as a result of actions towards me that made moving preferable to staying at that time, and one can only play Life the way one sees it today, but initially with the intention of returning, later fact...

I have this paranoia of labelling / engraving whatever I can, but I could only get a telephone number on to my reading glasses, which I subsequently dropped in the street somewhere unbeknown to me. Carried a R.R. rep. on the flight deck once, he presented us all with a R.R. tie clip. Was wearing it once ( wonder why ?? ! ) and was asked if I drove a Rolls Royce ( note - the questioner obviously considered me a chauffeur, not an owner ) I replied that I usually drove 4, all at the same time. An...

Re: Rant of the Day
Funnily enough the Japs scored as the most popular. Funny that, for many years in retirement I've been involved in a local Coastguard Search and Rescue Unit ( we search, others then rescue ) Of course we don't seek thanks, but the only time we have ever actually been personally thanked was by a Jap...
