Re: Allotment
Cousin's fig is also sans fruit this year. Perhaps it's in the 'dead' year as damsons and most apples have feast and famine cycles.
My goosgogs cropped in June. One year the birds were so desperate they not only cleared the cherries, strawbs and raspberries but also the gooseberries.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV

However, rain is forecast this afto and into the evening - probably about the same time I will be walking to a restaurant for dinner. This has happened before on the way to same v...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
BBC World Service America TV news 10 minutes ago, scrolling banner at the bottom of the screen mentioned a British Airways Summer Strike ? No details mentioned. Unite union is in a pay dispute with LHR management. An 'everybody out' action was suspended in July but 5, 6, 23 and 24 August may bring ...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Good morning! Crikey, 1st August. As hf says, where has the year gone? Sun is trying to shine through the cloud. Rain forecast in the afternoon. Nothing in the diary today but plenty to do in the garden. After all the wetness the heavy clay soil is almost workable so I will be mainly digging out the...

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Oo er hf ! :D Well the forecasters were partially right: we've had plenty of rain passing through tho' no t/storms. The rain held off yesterday until we got into the church for friend's thanksgiving service. The Rev had a different sermon: Monday's was themed on Psalm 8 and Tuesday's was Ecclesiaste...

Re: Rant of the Day v2.
I've finally calmed down after receiving a 'change to your itinerary' email from Scare Canada (aka Mapleflot) early this morning. It's actually a change to a change. :-w The new schedule has taken out the direct daily flight I was on to YOW and put me on a much later flight via Trawna. I also lost m...

'Tis not a church though there is a chapel nearby.
Re: Quiz 4-19
Just scrolled through to the final answers and noted 4ma had answered both parts of #64 correctly well before me. ^:)^ Ah, he's also beaten me to picking up on this. My final tally should be 19. Thank you for being a gentleman. :YMHUG: As for Arby's, had my first and last experience in Kingston, Ont...

Thanks Ex-A. Not been in the Cheese for years. Last time, it was full of tourists and the ale was not well-kept.

Re: The really boring and totally pointless snippets thread IV
Good morning. A sunny 20C with thunderstorms forecast later. I slept through last week's early morning mega noise and light show :( but should be awake for this one if it comes our way. All the best to Mrs Wodrick and anyone else in need of TRABB vibes. One has been on the go since returning from th...
