There was a young lad from Poole,
Who had a red ring 'round his tool,
He went to the clinic,
The Doctor, a cynic,
Said wash it, it' lipstick you fool.

When you enter the billing address country, in this case GB, it automatically changes it back to the country we are in now, and then you can’t add a GB address. The only solution is to VPN. I find this is often the case when ordering from New Zealand, many sites require an address, including a "Sta...

Photographs of Churchill. Nice. The one I like best, that I regret I can't reproduce here, was taken by Karsh of Ottawa, and showed Churchill with his most bulldog scowl. Karsh explained that he got Churchill seated the way he wanted, then holding the shutter release bulb in his hand - as one did th...

Re: The Jumbo Jet: 50 Years in the Sky : Channel 5 2000Z tonight

The best procedure was to simply reduce power in 2 stages, an initial power reduction (I forget how much) followed by closing the throttle completely after the engine had had a chance to stabilize. I recall setting descent power to a specified EPR value - now forgotten - until passing F/L 350, then...

Pity the Daily Wail won't have the chance to have a memorable front page - him and you- know-who together, then we could all have had a laugh.

Many "jokes" and comments about lawyers, but they are pinnacles of honesty and integrity compared to Real Estate Agents, who, IMHO are lower than the sludge that comes out of my septic tank. We have just been made April Fools of again in an honest attempt to purchase a property by offering more than...

Re: The "What would/wouldn't you wear?" thread

I haven't worn jeans for at least forty years and have no intention of doing so.
Never worn jeans, can't stand the pocket design.
Normal daily attire is a golf/polo shirt, shorts and sandles in summer, and slacks and shoes in our short winter.
Ditto, 'cept for shoes, replaced with Crocs !

It was suggested that I sit on my wallet...

Wasn't that the reason for the hump on the 747 - so that the Captain could sit on his wallet ?

(Pan Am being first operators of course ! )

A not so subtle form of blackmail. Spot on ! I was one deferred whilst completing an ap...

large brown paper bags - with handles - which makes them perfect for other uses incl as carry-out trashbags.
I never seem to get those home without the handles tearing off, maybe I stuff them too full ?
