Yes, we have a children manned crossing patrol too for the busiest periods at morning and afternoon, but it appears to be supervised by teachers, the children just wave the poles, they don't seem to choose when to stop and re-start the waiting lines of cars. No problem with that at the busy "coming"...

Re: Electric Cars II - Not Silly!
Just read of two women brought to a stop when their hired Tesla EV ran out of charge due to not being given some sort of adapter to use the only re-charging stations that they had been able to find, then they couldn't use the now non-working electric handles for the locked doors, the Hire Co. not ha...

I'm with John, I'm fully vacc'd, even qualified for a local extra one whilst visiting the USA when travel was allowed again, and still wear a mask in Supermarkets and Cinemas, both here and on USA visits, and have been totally free of Covid, for whatever reason, so far and hope to remain so. 2 local...

One is past a school, so is a deserving candidate for such a slow limit. I live on a school road, and the "posted" limit of 40 kph ( 25 mph ) states ".....when children present" , and most ( except me ) obey this at all times between 0800 and 1530, except during school holiday times. Question .... ...

Dogs on aircraft. During a short transit of Prestwick en route to the USA, I was walking through the cabin and one of the still seated passengers asked me if he could visit his Labrador dog in a cage in the hold, to see if it needed any more water ? I explained that wasn't possible, strangers walkin...

6/15 am Sunday 9/15 pm. Sunday Not very good, but I've never even heard of half the stuff 'specially most of the "Sport" and so called "Pop Music" questions, and always get the Maori questions wrong. Usually do better on the morning Kids Quiz, sometimes even 100% (!) but am pleased to say I always g...

Now living in NZ I'm often accused, correctly, as coming from Yorkshire, and when in California with Mrs. ExS. I'm frequently asked if I come from Australia. ( once explaining that I came from NZ, the reply was - well, that is Australia, isn't it ? )

If you'd bought a Xiaomi phone ........... No such thing existed then. I've read that with the modern system and someone has a spare key, then hold your phone on speakerphone near the keyhole, and get the person on the other end to press the key near their phone, then the transmitted sound will ope...

A Million years ago, a Dr. told my Mother to give a daily Cod Liver Oil tablet. The tasted awful, even if swalllowed whole, so she switched to Halibut Liver Oil which I found more palatable. I was only once off school with a cold, and never suffered the childhood ailments that others succumbed to, M...

A few years ago, previous car not elektrikery. Parked car to explore a nearby beach following our move to the present address. llondel, ( 7444 ) Yes, I long ago realised that if I left the keys in the car I could find myself locked out. A million years ago you could buy a magnetic key carrying case to place in a wheel well, or some handy place, but I guess the local car thieves would be on to that now, on top of which a rep...

My electric key can unlock the drivers door mechanically if it fails elecrically, as in the old days, but that doesn't unlock the boot lid of course. What is more frustrating under normal conditions is that when electrically commanding all doors, including the boot, to unlock whilst approaching the ...

I flew the Harvard on an RAF NATO course in Canada. One of our French Air Force compulsorily drafted students got lost on a solo night cross country, and eventually decided to bale out. He told us that he climbed out on to the wing whilst carefully holding the control column and avoiding the exhaust...
