Anyone who pays attention to those who tell you how to eat is an idiot.

Re: Arming the British Bobby a good idea?
No. Don't arm them. The qualities needed to be a good and decent policeman, if present, are not the same as required for a soldier. Cops tend to flap- and fire- with tragic results. The record shows this clearly and I won't bother to spell out instances; refer to your own memories of tragic UK outco...

You've clearly never eaten 'dahl' made by my beloved.
Yellow lentils.
A little chopped tomato.
A fair bit of roughly chopped coriander.
Some ghee (more please)
Salt.
Turmeric.
Yummier than lentils has any right to be.

Re: Bands you wish you'd seen
Went through a period when I saw some decent acts. Ian Dury, Camel, Grobschnitt, Dire Straits and a few others. I saw a watered down version of Genesis in Glasgow but deeply regret never seeing Pink Floyd.
It was 'The Wall' when I missed my chance, and what a show to miss.☹️

OFSO. You just posted that only white people can be racist. You should come to India. Here, the darker you are, the less well you are treated. Everyone wants to be fairer. i.e less brown. They sell 'fairness cream' to the gullible (it doesn't work!) and the ads for it all show them being better trea...

Re: Shoreham Air Show Plane Crash
I've read the thread on here, and the threads in 'the other place'. Why is it so hard for pilots to accept that a fellow pilot made a raging mess of things? I've dropped a few clangers during my 12,500 hours- who hasn't? AH is on video dropping one or two of his own, and he clearly made a big mess o...

Don't vote. It only encourages them.
Also, taking part is assenting to the outcome- and it legitimises it.
I certainly favour voting in referenda, but I'm disillusioned with the political process in the UK.
Democracy barely functions there.

Re: Batteries and flash lights
I have a thing called a Led lenser V2.
Uses only a single LED.
Astonishingly good, and batts last forever. I once stuck it in my flight bag and left it on. Next flight, it was still going!
Very small and light. Waterproof. Takes 3 AAA batts. Very well made.
Just, NEVER shine it in your own eyes.

Henry.
I quite agree. And I'd like the roads kept clear of cars next time I walk to the shops.
After all, cars sometimes bump into folk like me when we are just walking about.
And it's not fair.

Re: Shoreham Air Show Plane Crash
It's understandable that folk think 'something must be done', but is that really the case? The AAIB will publish in due course, but it looks a lot like a poorly judged manoeuvre that simply ran out of room. i.e yer standard normal cockup.....I speak as someone who's done his fair share of the same t...
