There are many advantages to working for a French company.
You are protected by some of the strongest labour laws in the world . If you work for a government entity you're pretty much guaranteed retirement on full salary at about 45. You don't have to do any work because you can't get sacked and in the unlikely event that they do manage to sack you it's a lengthy process and you then get a massive indemnity and unemployment benefits.
In exchange for that you would have paid pretty hefty social charges during the time that you have worked but if you play it right you'll get back far more than you've paid in.

The downside of working for a French company is that you have to work with a bunch of loathsome frogs and listen to their drivelng diatribes of meaningless self-congratulatory rubbish in meetings. You have to put up with the smell of festering coffee and Gauloises and BO and garlic breath.

Having worked for a French fuel company on the aviation side of things I can say that it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Sure, they have a different culture, but if you are prepared to adapt slightly and can talk their lingo things get done. Personally on the project side of things the French seem to procrastinate less than the British who spend more time working but getting far less done, but in truth both parties can get along. Never let it be forgotten that one of the wonders of the modern aviation world was an Anglo/French co-operative affair(e). Cue the row about the e as in Concorde.
