Flew to Annecy yesterday. It's near Geneva. Interesting terrain around the place. Small airport. A lovely little FBO with that delightful personal touch. Lunch there would have been delightful. Sadly, we had to fly off somewhere else.

What I know of Annecy is that it was the home town of the French family with a daughter that I met during a caravan holiday in 1959 at Carshalton in Surrey.

I should have been at ATC camp at RAF Thorney Island but failed to connect with my contact at London Bridge Station.

I don't know whether I regret missing the RAF experience as I learned much during my civilian holiday (aged 15).
