Sad news, not directly related to aviation but no doubt a few catalogue items are relevant e.g duct tape.

I've got a few of the original magnets which were so powerful it was nigh impossible to pull them off the surface so knobs were introduced:

Must confess I'm a sucker for hardware stores. I love to explore what's on offer in the extant ones in the UK and abroad. The latter are far more varied in their offerings. My fave was one in a small village in mid Turkey. All the aspiring apiarist could wish for in beekeeping, all sorts of ironmongery sold by the local measure e.g a quart of nails and a small anvil and fire to bend metal into whatever shape the customer wanted. You don't get that service in Bennetts!

Sad to hear. Lee Valley tools are renowned among woodworkers for their quality, as is the company for their service. I have several LV planes, and have also bought hinges, locks and other hardware.
It's not uncommon to order on Sunday night Sydney (Australia) time and receive the goods by Friday, with updates from the company on the progress of the order.
