SAPO Sets a new record

#1 Post by ian16th » Mon Feb 27, 2017 3:15 pm

Today, 27th February, I had a Xmas Card in my PO Box!

We all know that SAPO is unreliable and slow, but this has set a new record to my box.

The card was posted in Melbourne, I cant decipher the date in the postmark.

It would be a reasonable assumption that it was posted a couple of weeks before Christmas.
10DEC16-27FEB17 = 80 days.
What was that about round the world in 80 days?
Distance MEL-DUR = 7628 miles via SYD and JNB
= 95 miles/day
= 4 mph

Don't blame the Sarf Effricans. The fault is much more likely to be with Australia Post whose CEO (the highest paid postal chief in the world at something over $5M a year) has just resigned. Rumour has it that his resignation letter was posted in December but only arrived last week!
