Solid white lines make the road very pretty, don't they?

Reminds of when I gave a black a driving test in Rhodesia. I asked him what the white line in the middle of the road is for.
"Eh, eet ees so if you are drunk at night you can follow the line home."
In 1976, he failed. Today, I expect he would pass.
