My first experience of an airport was as a spectator on the roof of the Queen's building at Heathrow in July 1959.
Viscounts, Britannias, Caravelles . . .
Photographs were taken on my Ilford Sportsman.

Good to see my old steeds the B727 and DC9 in the same colours I flew 'em in. I'm ignoring the 20 ton Dog Whistle. Noisy bloody thing to fly it was.

I was a high school teen in 1974 when that new terminal opened. Saw it on the telly.
