Harry Goodman -Air Europe

#1 Post by Ibbie » Tue Mar 13, 2018 11:54 am

The man who brought us Air Europe, together with package holiday companies Enterprise, Intasun and Club 18-30 in the International Leisure Group, Harry Goodman, has died at the age of 79.

Air Europe et al went bust in 1991. Doesn't seem that long ago.

I recall waking to the news that AE had folded - my 'whoop' frightened the dog: It was either them or us (Dan)

Harry Goodman did a lot to change the UK travel industry. One could could debate whether that was good or bad, but he was a bold innovator who had the courage of his convictions.

I had the experience in Air Europe of flying to Jersey in the Capt seat when I was an F/O and flying back to Gatwick in the F/O seat as a Capt.
