Newport to Ensenada International Sail Boat Race

With Covid restrictions slowly lifting, the annual race was back on this year. Yours truly was crew on a Lagoon 450.... "Some Tuesday". We were the defending champion in our class, but lost out to our good friends and neighbors "Voyager". It all comes down to tactics---we chose the offshore route whereas they chose to remain inshore. We also had a mishap with our spinnaker and it ripped and fell in the water under the boat----this lost us at least an hour an half trying to retrieve it. There were about 190 boats in the race. I ended up bringing a Beneteau 45 back to Long Beach, not a fun ride in high seas and motoring into wind the whole way....
