HP Printer owners (and others) beware!
HP Printer owners (and others) beware!
According to the web, HP have 'updated' their printer software to 'improve user experience' by blocking all non-HP ink and apparently putting a 'use not after' function on their own carts. All done with the best interests of the customer, of course..............

It affects only certain printers, and after lawsuits in various countries, HP has an update-to-the-update available which removes the dynamic security feature causing the problems.
Details, and guidance on how to remove the DS feature, are on the HP website here

Good spot yourself - thanks for the tip

Fortunately the 'improved user experience' doesn't seem to apply to HP laser printers. Mine churns away happily on compatible colour toners.
