Win 7 Professional edition does everything I need to do, so why change? Also run a Linux box via KVM switch for the occasions when I need to do something technical.

A very large numbers of businesses here still use XP and seem to have no problems, never mind the wild delights of 7 !

Down in Barcelona today, saw a number of shops using XP, far more 7, none at all 10. (Unless 10 had been configured to look like 7). I think MS will have an uphill struggle to persuade people to move - until they cut the updates off.

Still using Windows XP on my main laptop without any problems whatsoever. A trusted I.T. specialist mate down in Sydney said PUPs should be my only concern with XP.

I use a WIN 8.1 which was bought because support from MSft for XP stopped. I was concerned to do any financial transaction on it.

My old laptop uses W10 since I upgraded it, my newer one uses W7 PRO, and I think my phones are W8, not really sure, as I only use about 5% of what they do, and only understand about 50% of that 5%. It all seems to work most of the time.

Win Hate.1 'cos this machine came with it loaded, switched off most of the so called eye-candy and NEVER press the "flag" key alone unless allied to something else, like flag+X to switch off, or flag+D to get to the desktop and select the icon I want. Will soldier on until Win 300 or similar comes along - I hope ! Still use an old disc of Word 97 and Win. 98 served me well. Maybe inventing the wheel was a mistake as well ?

Tried to edit the bastard thing within 30 seconds of posting but no joy. Been trying for over ten minutes and my edit grace period is probably about ready to expire. No doubt the four eyed shitweasel's cruddy code has something to do with it.

My notebook is windows 8, but I use the windows 7 desktop feature. Tried to understand windows 8, but gave up. would like to get a new notebook, but I really don't want W10. Still have Windows 7 on my laptop which I have always liked. All the IT people I know reckon 10 is a real dog. I don't think I know anyone who likes it.

Been using XP since it came out. Never had any bother even when the update etc stopped.Don't use the comp for anything serious.Never been hacked,fracked or attacked.Eventually I will get a new machine built with XP as the OS.You can still buy mint copies on Amazon cheap as deep fried slices of potato.

I have Windows 7 Pro as my main desktop. My newish laptop had Win10 pre-installed, which failed after a year and wouldn't reinstall, so that has Ubuntu now. I was offered a free Win8 laptop when they came out and opted for paper and pencil. I have an XP laptop for emergencies, and I can still program direct into machine code on 8080 series.

Same here. Can see absolutely no reason to change in the foreseeable future. Got rafts of oddball programming utilities installed. The kind of things that get used once a year, but when needed may save days of disassembling code.

Windows XP laptop for everyday use as I prev mentioned, and W10 Pro huge laptop (MSI) for business and work-related stuff (those things that need W10 and/or that Google bloody Chrome browser).

Co provides us with IPad Air for sim and briefings, reports etc.

W10 I update with my guru back in Thailand once a month or so to make sure I avoid the pitfalls and unnecessary bells and whistles.

Apsara uses XP at work (like a lot of businesses do) but is familiar with W10. She won't budge an inch from W7 on her personal lappy.
