Might be part of the changes I recently made to how the site handles images. For instance it now auotmatically resizes images that are too large instead of telling you to bugger off if to big.

It didn't do that yesterday when I tried to post images it thought were too large, so is this an innovation within the last 24 hours?

Thanks Alison. It is no problem as the information is there. Would prefer auto sizing if one has to choose between one or t'other. All too dam clever for me.

Actually just tried to test it and it said photo to large. It was very large though, about 2.5 Mbs.

Yes, can't post pics from my Huawei phone as too big. Bet they all end up in China OK though... Auto resizing on the website would be brilliant.

I thought Alison included auto-resizing last week.

It does do auto-resizing, but there are limits. Can't remember what they are at present. Will check up later.

I managed to post a photo from smart phone some months ago and the site auto sized. Tried just now with a 3 mb photo and it will not publish?

There are limits Sir. 3 mb ??? Forget what it is at present, but suspect 2 mb might be max.

OK copied thank you. Will have to learn how to turn the camera resolution down.

I tend to resize photos down to 2048 x whatever before posting them and that brings them under the limit. I remember when 640x480 was standard for digital photos because that's what the best cameras could do.

Wasn't 640 x 480 the original VGA screen size?

Yes, it was. I remember CGA at 640x200, EGA at 640x350 and then VGA at 640x480
