Anyone used VeraCrypt?
Any opinions of it?
I've been using Dkart Private Disk Light for years, and never knkowingly had it tested. It is simple to use.

Re: Encryption
On my Commodore C64 I used to POKE a value for the text colour that was the same as the background colour. Very effective. Rather than encryption, hiding text in a .jpg file is a good wheeze to evade casual scanning. Nobody is going to check a USB drive with a couple of hundred family pictures on it, all different sizes, looking for one with a text file embedded.
Re: Encryption
I did the same to a loathsome colleague, set his text colour to the same as the background colour, when we used old fashioned dumb emulation terminals. He came in, switched his computer on, spent 10 minutes fiddling around, then called office automatons, and they would say : "We can see what's on your screen, now type ABC123, and they would say : "We can see what you're typing."

Re: Encryption
I use Roho. Wouldn't be too easy to have the files listed as icons and see which jpg is not a picture?

Re: Encryption
My attempt to use VeraCrypt on my Win/7 desktop went very awry.
I had to do a System Restore!
Not to be recommended.
