Which phone to buy ?

#1 Post by OFSO » Wed Aug 29, 2018 12:40 pm

I see Apple has just dropped to third place behind Samsung and Huawei in number of phones sold. But still making bigger profits as sales price per unit so much higher.

I am surprised people are still paying an Apple Tax - let alone anything above 250 € for a phone.

Yes yes, pay a stupidly high price for a phone with no expandable memory and no headphone jack, where you have to set up an account and tell Apple everything about you before it works. I walk past the Apple store in Regent St and see all their workers with huge smiles on their faces at the mugs buying their products which have screens made by Samsung and innards from Huawei at twice the price....

Samsung J1-6
128GB card expandability (holds all my music). Cheapest phone which takes more than 64GB.
You may want the 16GB RAM rather than the 8GB I have, or you will not be loading many apps.
Have had zero issues in 2 years.

A piece of string is 153 feet long.

(Tested: The educational supply place in the UK sells "String", no other info available. It turns out to be 153 ft long. This measurement kept a lower sixth class busy for 5 minutes, including thinking time.)

153 feet - how prosaic. Why not 2.π cricket pitches?

Yer decimal wouldn't give yer that degree of accuracy.
