I bit the bullet and updated my Win/7 desktop yesterday.

My PC is now Slooooooooow!

It took forever to boot.

Reading a computer mag today, I saw a note that WIN10 is even slower (even ?) on an SSD than on a disc drive. I cannot understand why this should be. My own self-build uses both rotating drives and a Maplin (!) SSD with the OS That Dare Not Speak Its Name and is, well, fast enough for me.

Not HP but my Weather PC upgraded to 1809 with no problem yesterday. Today my main PC has been frozen for the last 2.5 hours on "Working on Updates 100%. Don't turn off your PC". Well, I'm going to have to once the recommended 3 hour wait has expired - then I'll know it's not going to conclude the update. B****y MS updates........

Yes, the issue for me was an oldish HP laptop and 1809 going to 'disable' my wireless adapter. Still holding on 1803 with no major problems

Well, Ctrl-Alt-Del did nothing so powered the PC off and on again. "Hi" it says "We have some updates for you. It will only take a few minutes"

Yeh, Yeh, I've heard that before!

EDIT: Well, that's a surprise. Three minutes later and 1809 has installed after hanging for three hours!
