Do any members use a vpn, keep seeing adverts for Nordvpn, is it worth pursuing?
When all else fails, read the instructions.

I use a VPN for security Woody, moreso for the end site to think I'm in Turkey or Singapore or Sweden etc depending, and mine is Kaspersky free VPN. Limit is 200MB per day which is enough for my online needs really.

I use a VPN called Tunnel Bear which gives 1Gb/month free, which is more than enough for my limited and occasional usage, but a paid version gives unlimited. It's easy to install, as proved by the fact that I did it without help from my IT department (then teenage son!), and works well.

Not free, I rent a virtual server and run my own VPN (OpenVPN) on it. It's quite useful for a variety of things - I automatically use it when at a hotel, and with some careful configuration tweaks it lets me see certain other machines also connected to the VPN so I can access content on them. It's also been helpful at previous places of employment, get IT to OK use of the VPN and then use it for web browsing so bypassing any monitors they might have. As a side effect, it also means if I want to look at something, it's not logged by the remote end as coming from the employer's IP address.

Running my own, I am more sure about the security than some of these free sites.

I'm safe using Kaspersky. No communist chinks involved. I done me homework prior to use.
