Hot on the news that a demo of 5G on Maui in Hawaii failed to demo the expected speeds comes the news that BT are to remove all Huawei equipment from their mobile network. BT, however, still plans to use the Chinese company's phone mast antennas and other products deemed not to be at the "core" of the service.

The Financial Times has revealed that BT was stripping out Huawei equipment from the core of its existing 3G and 4G networks as well.

I hope they donate the equipment to O2. The Scandiwegian crap that O2 is saddled with is not fit for purpose.

From 05:30 this morning to mid-evening O2's entire data network throughout the whole of the UK has been down. Their G4 net is still down and the G3 net is not 'running', it's crawling at Telex speed (if you can get a connection at all).

A useless bunch of bastards! A shower of shite who should be fined extremely heavily by Ofcomm for this fiasco.

At least the Huawei 3G and 4G stuff actually works. So what if the Chinks are earwigging on our traffic. That's exactly what the septics have been doing for decades.

According to a very clear explanation by a guy on the BBC this am, the problem was caused by a certificate issue with the Ericsson software which ran the gateway from providers like O2, Three, EE etc to the WWW.

The world was paralysed! A salutary lesson for all as to how reliant we have become on our smartphones. Imagine not being able to Twat at the world or share piccies of our doggy in fancy dress!! Was the Chump silenced??

A brief view of what a significant cyber attack would do to our way of life.
