Me likewise. No farcebook, Instagram, twatter etc. ON more than satisfies my needs, thanks to our Mother Superior's excellent site.
Re: Low Cost Smartphone. Why not?
No TwatBook, Faecesgram, WankedOn etc for me either.
I used to be told I was missing out on 'business' and employment opoortunities. Great.
Some smarmy hardfaced cow marketing consultant rang me once (she was a friend of an acquaintance which is how she got my number) and told me that I should use her services, as I had no presence on the Internet.
I thanked her for giving me such great news and hung up.

Re: Low Cost Smartphone. Why not?
A high school friend (a radio amateur and working for Apple support and has helped an Iphone using member here hence he knows a thing about those things) refuses to acquire a smartphone until data package prices are dropped. In the meantime when he needs to plan a trip on the city buses he rings his wife (also an IT specialist) to ask her to use the bus app to plan the trip and he does not know how to use the app. Just this morning we discussed (his wife and I) to refuse to assist him with the bus planning.

Re: Low Cost Smartphone. Why not?
The sim cards from three for the phones we have are £11 a month unlimited everything. The mifi box in UK is £22 a month and in Spain €34. No complaints.

A more useful lesson would be to quote the wrong bus number and send him on a mystery tour.Rwy in Sight wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 11:28 amA high school friend (a radio amateur and working for Apple support and has helped an Iphone using member here hence he knows a thing about those things) refuses to acquire a smartphone until data package prices are dropped. Re: Low Cost Smartphone. Why not?
Old, previous, smartphone died on Christmas day (why not Easter ?!) Will not get past boot screen. Can't bring up diagnostic screen (vol down and on at same time). Refuses to talk to PC. May download new OS to SD card at some future time and try that.

WankedOn?No TwatBook, Faecesgram, WankedOn
Sounds like a social media bukkake group app!

Re: Low Cost Smartphone. Why not?
Fixed old phone. Unlike other Android phones, power on/off is NOT the enter key in Factory Settings. The Home key is ! Once emptied and rebooted, entering my password restored all the apps, all the settings, except WA which asked for my phone number. Like most things (except understanding women) very easy when you know how.
Re: Low Cost Smartphone. Why not?
Even understanding women is easy if you know how, it's just that pretty much anyone who claims they do know how is misguided or lying.OFSO wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 11:01 amFixed old phone.
