Strange Windows10 behaviour (there's a surprise...?)

#1 Post by Boac » Sat Apr 04, 2020 9:18 am

This AM switched on 2 of the 3 machines chez moi and each behaved 'oddly' on boot, going into some sort of 'user profile setting setup' - "Please wait" etc which I cancelled. Mouse did not work correctly on 1 machine and had to be re-plugged.

I have checked for a 'sneaky' M$ update but there is no evidence of one. I have a 'waiting' features update but now't else. Anyone else had this phenomenen today?

Just fired up machine 3 and nothing unusual??

Oh there is a new update and it enables things such as voice recognition I think, all bells and whistles that I don't want.

Sneaky thing is they don't roll it out to everyone so I see it 2-3 weeks ago and forget the details I dismissed. Then you get this MS virus and you are alone! Try googling.

Here is a some good news @-)

What's New in Windows 10's 20H1 Update, Arriving Spring 2020. Microsoft is already working on Windows 10's 20H1 update. Expected sometime around May 2020, this is Windows 10 version 2004. It's much bigger than Windows 10's November 2019 update but still feels like a collection of useful improvements.25 Mar 2020

"Oh there is a new update " no, AFAIK there isn't. See Post #1. Unless, of course, you know better and have a KB reference? Don't forget you have yet to receive '2020-04'.

Windows10 2004 you refer to is not due until May and is still 'in progress' (aka being tweaked). One possible useful function is to view GPU temperatures in the task manager which should save having to run Core Temp, although whether M$ will allow this to run as a non-admin we will have to see.

That one has not hit me.

EDIT: Spooky or what? I checked this AM - and nothing - and now PN has sent me an M$ update called KB4541335 =))
